x64 drivers for ATI

Hi !

Very interested to make the big jump in the planet of x64 but with my card ATI AIW 9800se. Under windows XP 32 I git it easily modded as a 9800 pro AIW.

What about x64, did omega made drivers for us yet or not ?

Thanks

Sam

there are no 64bit omega drivers.

I think it is possible to run 32-bit drivers in a shell or in compatibility mode(I have been told this before) but I have no knowledge as to whether this is true or not.

unfortunately they are incompatable with 64-bit windows, tried it when i used a beta version of XP64, it wouldnt have anything but the 64-bit drivers, it only seems to emulate 32bit programs and not drivers as well.

why is nvidia in front? afaik there aren't any modded x64 nvidia drivers either, both nvidia and ati have 64bit beta drivers tho.

there are 64bit ATI catalyst drivers. Thats no problem. There arent OMEGA drivers though, thats all.

and are you sure you cant do that with the drivers? I was pretty sure you could. *shrugs* oh well.

edit: my best friend says that you probably need a 32bit wrapper. Where the f*** you get one is beyond me though. I'll google it and tell you if i find anything.

im sure if that worked, someone would have said it already a bit more public domain than your friend

besides if you did that it would be REALLY slow, converting 32bit instructions into 64bit ones isnt that easy!

eh ive seen wrappers for other such things. Probably wouldnt be that slow.

honestly your best bet is to get the official ATI 64bit drivers. Omega drivers are nice, but if yer going 64 bit, there just isnt any omega stuff for yah.

i wouldnt attempt that UNLESS you are 100% sure you're board has the R360 core and works at XT speeds, i wouldnt even risk it otherwise

Does the 64bit drivers require 64bit OS? Will it work with my WinXP pro?

I run x64 only on my shuttlwe system, and have an ATI AIW 9800Pro. The graphics side is fine, with beta 3 released, but I haven't found any capture drivers what so ever, thats actually how I ran across this site. I am trying to hack the 32 driver now, but I have no idea what the hell I'm doing. Someone said something about compatibility mode?

What the hell? None work, but I hoocked up the secondary to our HDTV last night. I have been a little ticked about the drivers not having features like basic AA, etc., but they arent there, for the PRIMARY display. I enabled the secondary, and made it the main display, and they suddenly appeared! Then I turned off the component and went back to primary and **poof** there gone. Anyone else have this problem? Also, certain websites in firefox shut down my PC, like limewire. It is a big irritance.
