4.12 BUG: Ground Textures and FarCry 1.3
I was hoping someone here could help me with this. I've been getting it for a while regardless of what drivers I used. I only notice it on transitions from gravel/dirt/grass to pavement.

Greetings,
What are your system specifications please? Has this behaviour occured in any other game or is it just in Far Cry? Is AA or AF enabled?

System specs are: Intel 875PBZ, P4 3.0Ghz, 1GB RAM, ATI 9800XT w/ 256mb.
To be honest I really haven't played any other game besides FarCry in the longest time so I can't say if it effects other games. I have AA on 2x and AF on 4x, both through the game and not the control panel. I just installed the official 4.12's, so I'll check and see if I still have the problem. |

If the new drivers don't help, try turning off the AA and AF and see if the problem goes away.

I assume you have the latest Far Cry patch? Version 1.3 Build 1337?

Yeah latest version. It seems like its gotten worse as I used newer drivers actually. Heres another screenshot.
here It usually occurs and worsens when looking at it from various positions. |

Hmm.. I'm out of ideas. Have you tried playing the game with default settings to see if it's still evident? I mean absolute default graphic settings.

dont know what to suggest, all i CAN suggest is check the Catalyst control panel, make sure all your graphics settings are on high quality and in farcry make sure all your texture settings are on max

I'll try resetting everything back to default when I get a chance. Hopefully its just some screwed up setting.

Alright, tried that and it defaulted all the settings to "very high" but still I have these weird textures in the wrong places. I assume people would have been complaining to ATI about it if its their drivers and they would have fixed it. But I'm gonna send them a bug report or something if I can find it on their site.

I talked to a friend of mine who also has an ati card with the 4.12 drivers and he has the same problem. Here are some more shots..
http://home.comcast.net/~rjforbes/normal.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~rjforbes/not_normal1.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~rjforbes/not_normal2.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~rjforbes/not_normal3.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~rjforbes/another_example.jpg This happens in many other places in the game. It seems similar to this bug. I'm fairly sure its a bug with the drivers so I filled out the feedback form, I just hope they look at it. Anybody here that works with ATI, plz make sure its looked into.

Hmm. Well good work on the feedback/bug report form. I have FarCry installed, and I'll verify the bug myself. Could you tell me what map that is? I'm unfamilliar with FarCry's multiplayer

The first four are from mp_mangoriver. That areas at the 1st flag, and you have to walk up the stairs after you spawn.
The other is mp_freighter, at the first flag. And I have another I just took. Its mp_dam, at 2nd flag, inside the garage/hangar. http://home.comcast.net/~rjforbes/hangar_floor.jpg |

No_Style: Have you had a chance to try it yet? Just curious to see if other users have it too, or if its just my friend and I.

Confirmed.
I appologize for not responding earliar, but I've been busy. I've confirmed the bug. As for who's fault it is. I think it's a map issue. Do other maps have that problem? It's very isolated, so I think it's Crytek's fault.
