Best to rate the drivers after a good few hours of testing Posting your rating in here after 20mins of the release of the cats wont help ATI gather accurate info. Not that i doubt ATI's work, it's always a pleasure to have new driversets.

It took me 22 s to get them

Think it will take me more time to test them!

voted 10 as hl2 is running better for some reason. I had the 4.12 betas so would not have thought much difference. This with a 9700pro.

I voted a "5" only for the simple fact that this is the third official driver set in a row that Smartgart sets "AGP Write" to off and I can't enable it. Oh well.

Every game that i played until now runs Great and Stable (Time will tell with more games how good these drivers are )

I choose 8 because Catalyst Control Center needs some work
Drivers seems Great and stable but i think they can be even more optimized in certain Great games and not only with Half life 2

Keep up the good work

Voted 9. It's quite stable, no issues and no matter what I do with HL2 settings, no texture problems. Pretty much the same performance as the beta's except on some points, where they seem better. Tried CCC for the 1st time, hoping I would get the overdrive tab on my Asuss branded X800 Pro VIVO, to no avail.

Guess I'll have to flash my card to get it recognised as a XT for the overdrive tab. Or even better, anyone know how to get Smartdoctor working with ATI's official driver ?

i gave it a 5, due to the fact that my overdrive gets 2d screen corruption when i apply overdrive on my x800pro cat 4.10 and earlier my overdrive function works great, but not the new sets of drivers.

you know i have to say this.... I do agree with you on that one. Seriouslly, at this point there are no major bugs that I know of, and Im quite happy with the performance across the boards. Im glad our last release of the year was our best one.

We will be sure to keep it up in 2005

Gave them a 9 performance is up in all games I play including EverQuest2 and all but 1 benchmark.

2 reasons I didn't give'em a 10 are,

1. They broke GLExcess, not sure why, the 4.12 beta's worked. Test 10 complete's intermittently and 11 and 12 just abort. I know it's an older bench don't even know if anyone else uses it anymore.

2.Overdrive is broke only overclocks the core not the memory and actually lowers my scores using it alot of stuttering, does correctly report the temps.
Is is supposed to work on a X800 pro ?

If reason 1 is due to being an old app and the answer to 2 is no them I probably should have given them a 10. As Drakor stated in an earlier post that they were the best drivers of the year, I tend to agree with him.

Awesome job Terry You did lie about proformce in 9600xt cards ehehe. I just broke my old score for first time today. Only trouble I have is with OD with CC panels. But works well under CCC panel? Can you make a hot fix for this thanks

Overdrive 2 DOESNT overclock the memory!

Overdrive 3 however does, but is only available on X850's

I gave them an 8 since Overdrive doesnt work for me with these drivers

still have heavy texture corruption/missing in quiet every scene, with my 8500 BbA.
Only the Omega 2.5.90 (as mentioned in the ReadMe) can fix this issue.
->so i still use Omega.
Is there no way for ATi to include a bugfix, like Omega?

Thanks Spyre, wasn't sure about that. Scratch 1 reason.

I'll guess GLExcess is broke due to it being based on an older version of Openglide, and the optimizations for new games aren't compatible anymore.
Ahh well nothing lasts forever, too bad I can't change my vote from a 9 to a 10!
Perhaps a mod can Hint, hint.

Best set of drivers for me this year too. Performance on HL2 with my X800Pro is excellent compared to the 4.11's. No issues with any games unlike previous driver sets. Still not using CCC, don't see what the advantage is
