Sounds like you don't have the .NET framework installed - you must have .NET installed to get CCC to work.

Regarding OD - we're trying to figure why it seems to be randomly showing/not showing. Beleive me we're not trying to "screw" anybody :-)

Hmm. I just can't get the CCC to run. I've tried uninstalling everything several times. I even used drivercleaner. When I install Catalyst 4.12+CCC everything goes smoothly and there's no errors. When I reboot the driver works, but I can't run CCC at all. When I try to I just an hourglass next to my mouse for a second and nothing else happens. I have net framework 1.1. Does the CCC require another service(s) to be on? I have disabled some I don't need.

Uninstall .Net 1.1. Then go to Microsofts website and do a search for the .Net 2 beta. A lot of people apparantly need these betas to get the CCC to work properly. I did.

No problem, hope it works I'm pretty sure it will since it has for many. Just remember to uninstall the .net 1.1's before installing the betas. Let me know if it works

when using ATI cards its much better to be using directX for 3D applications etc. i have tried openGL many times in the past with so many problems, its one of ATI's weakest links. and its not helping at all especially when using linux nvidia will be the only card i CAN use for 3D architecture and modeling and animation etc etc etc, in windows and linux workstations. they have to realize these are big money compainies that could buy their cards instead of nvidia quatros... but since the lack of linux and openGL improvements and their manager decissions, their missing out.

can you please list your system stats? are u running a firewall too? if so wich one? what service pack are u on?
uninstall all the .net frameworks you have from windows control panel, then install .net beta 2.0 from www.microsoft.com (using search u should find it).

however if u are not running a 9500 video card or higher you will not be able to run CCC until *ati let me know if im wrong :P* 5.1 (or was it 5.2)? anyhow until ati enables support for all video cards, which will also have support for mobile cards aswell, meaning something about adding support for future "catalyst drivers" aswell - dunno how its going to work... i can guess at first it might be problematic

i have a P4 2,6, SiS Chipset MoBo, 768 MB, Radeon 9800 Pro
I'm running a firewall, have the latest .net (no beta though) but i didn't install the CCC. CP version is enough for me i thought.

Hi, I have the ATI CCC 4.12 drivers with my x800 Pro and when I play R:TW I have to turn my settings down, especially with huge or large unit sizes and the performance isn't even good there. All my other games run smooth as hell. I have a Pentium 4 2.8 ghz and 1.5 gb of RAM.

In case i missed it

just upgraded from the old cat drivers to cat 4.12 and have found an undocumented feature - ie a bug, or at least I think so

I can only play games in windowed mode - everquest 2 and anarchy online both do the same - start, black screen, use ctrl, alt and delete to get task manager up and i see the screen momentarily, though I cannot access it

Have I missed something obvious?

Rig is an athlon 3.2, 1.5gb ram, Radeon 9600xt, direct x 9 c is installed

TIA

This is the best driver yet from ATI so far. Very nice and stable.
Regarding CCC, I think it has been improving with every release. My only problem with it is that changing profiles through ATI CCC taskbar is a bit buggy. It sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, especially when changing profiles after playing some games. Is this a known issue?

Are you using a flat panel display, by any chance?

On my system, quite a few times when something wants to display 640x480 or 800x600, the card will either generate a valid-but-blank signal, or will display a 640x480 centered window containing what looks like a smeared version of what the upper left corner of the proper image scaled up would be. [Ie, Pirates! gave me a small bluish window until I forcibly rebooted, and then reset the program options to display to 1280x960, which has been working fine, since.]

It doesn't happen all of the time, or consistently for any particular program. But if I am in that mode, I can C-A-E or alt-tab and sometimes get a 4x magnified version of the Task Manager to flicker into view for a split-second, which sounds kinda like what you describe.

Tweaking the "scale image..." option and the refresh settings seems to affect or reset the problem; aladinsane, see what happens if you change 'em and retest...

I've installed the new cat 4.12's with and without ccc but it did not run smooth.
Games were running with alot of hesitation. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers with the same results. I even installed the updated version of netframe work 1.1 for ccc and it did not improve the performance. I had to install the omega 4.12 betas and it runs fine. I'm running all games at 1280 x 1024 @ 70 HZ., on a HP f1903 flat panel ( DVI ) Any answers??????????

try turning fastwrite off, omega drivers do this by default, cats turn them on by default. fastwrites off make a rather big difference on my 9600XT and HL2 performance.

Thumbs Up! To CATALYST MAKER

There seems to be a problem with the All in one package download of driver ,ccc, and wdm install.

Overdrive and Smartgart were missing when I downloaded the whole package.

So I downloaded the components seperately, installed and presto all settings appeared.

And yes I did the usual complete uninstall and reinstall of drivers and stuff, just to see if that was the problem.

Just thought you might like to investigate ok. Other than that the 4.12 set is great.

Andrew,

Hi, I'm new to this forum but I have to say it is very cool that a company rep posts here

Count me in as one of the users of an XT card that has no Overdrive option in v4.12 W/ Catalyst Control Center-- I downloaded the big package that included everything (cable broadband is nice).

I have noticed an issue, might be related to CCC and/or .NET Framework. In the OpenGL game Call of Duty United Offensive, using v4.12 with the Catalyst Control Center and .NET Framework 1.1 (and .net service pack 1 installed) there is a pretty serious graphic stuttering problem that occurs playing the game. Makes the game practically unplayable-- terrain has a rapid chattering stutter during movement and every minute or so there are short freezes of all graphics maybe a second or two in duration then it kicks back in and skips forward essentially vaulting you forward in whatever direction you were headed. NOW, using the 4.12 driver with the Classic ATI Control Panel appears to resolve the issue, that is, stuttering very much reduced if barely noticeable at all. So that tells me it may be an issue with CCC or the underlying .NET Framework v1.1.

It should further noted that my card is a 256mb version. My system specs:

nForce2 motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ CPU
512mb DDR system ram (one stick)
Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 256mb
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
3Com 3C905C NIC
WD 120g ATA100 7200rpm
LG CDRW
Windows XP Home SP1 (all windowsupate.com patches applied except SP2)

Ai

Hi! I've got some questions about AI:
1) Does it work on my card? (9800Pro)
2) How do I turn it on? I use Control Panel, not CCC.
3) Does it bring significant performance improvement?
4) Does it bring some issues of it's own?
Also, apparently, some games don't always accept AA/AF settings that I make in ATI Control Panel. How can I force them?
