Shader Emulator
I am looking for a pixel shader and vertex shader emulator.
I would like to play EQ2 on my Radeon 320m. Any suggestions other than "Get a new laptop" are appreciated. Thanks |

or Get a new grapics card!.... You do know on quite a few laptops the video maybe upgradeable Other then that.. there is nothing you can do..... 320M IGP = RADEON VE maybe play the game in software mode asumeing it has one even then it'll be like 1 to 3FPS even on a top end laptop considering the 320M IGP (the oldest ATI radeon one in existance) doesn't have hardware support for newer the DX6 has 1 pixel pipe and 3 texture units and a non existant pixel shader version (as in no support) 0 vertex shaders... not even T&L support you pretty SOL that is unless the video is upgradeable... even then it's still be slow As old as that is makes me wonder how old that laptop is brings us back to : Get a new laptop! or buy a desktop

Laptop is about a 1 1/2 years old. I know that is old in technology years
![]() It still runs well enough with: Athlon 2000 1024 mb ram Card set to 128mb in bios My desktop is great but I like to be able to play on my laptop for those unfortunate hours I am at work

if it's upgradeable you just need to upgrade, if not new laptop time....

try 3danalyse
http://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/tools/3d_analyze/ it may help it convinces the game that you have pixel shaders but you wont get any actual shading.... |

Truthfully bro, to get EQ2 to run decently enough on your machine...you'd have to upgrade it so you'd be able to play it. Cause as is, it'd be slow, and it'd skip all over the place even if you'd turned everything down to low.

3d analyze doens't support what I need yet. But thanks for the link.
I know it (eq2) would crawl on this but my main goal was to burn up some crafting while at work. Low performance and crappy fps really wont matter for that. I believe I am simply SOL. Thanks for the input guys. WoW, however, runs at a steady 20-25 fps and haven't had any issues yet so it looks like I will stick with that when bored.
