5.1 CCC Wont Start

Well, I downloaded the new 5.1's with the CCC, I have a RADEON 9800 XT card and my CCC wont start up, i tried double clicking on it and it doesn't work, no CLI.exe in the task manager or anything, whats going on?

i havent been able to even install it and i have the .net framework 1.1. it keeps saying installation interrupted when the installshield wizard starts.

try the .net 2.0 beta

uninstall CCC /drivers from the add remove .. then reinstall

I have tried .net 1.1 & 2.0 beta and the CCC doesn't load for me either.
Have tried 'restart runtime' as well.

The CCC hasn't worked for me since catalyst 4.7

you must first uninstall all your versions of .net, then reboot, and then try again. some reason MS made some kind of fault here where it gets annoying and screws things up for everyone.

i would try .net beta 2.0 after doing that, or just do www.windowsupdate.com right after restarting.

It wont work because your signature is way to large for use here on DH. Once you sig is 400x100 it will work again

So u better reduce the size of your signature before we carry on

btw if you've "tweaked" your windows services etc.... IF YOU"VE DISABLED SOMETHING NEEDED FOR .NET or CCC.... CCC will not run.....

might be time for a format and reinstall

My CCC stopped working since 4.10. Most people think that the machine is somehow screwed up when they read “CCC wont launch” bla bla.

However, my windows setup is rather good, thought. And is ways far from a mess!

I'm still convinced that ATI should start worries about all the annoyed users who are having this problemo! (I can find a lot related postings in different forums)

And NO!

It is not the FW!
.Net 2.0 runtime dose not help!
restart the runtime is a waste of time anyway!

I did disable the windows messenger service.

I i'll enable it when I get home and see if that fixes it.

becouse if you answer more the 30 days

? time for a reformat.....
lest thats how it is with the hardcore users becouse we understand windows becomes TRASH over time....

the about the you should wait before formating and rsintalling windows is like 3-4 mouths and again for highly experiance users top 5% that know how to clean everything out up etc.... even then you run into unfixable errors do to your OS

Ulness your not not the compter much, never install or remove any 3rd party software or updates.... IE a "web gateway" machine can last forever.. but frequenly used systems NOPE....

just a thought...but are you trying to run CCC while having the old CPinstalled...if soo that could be it. The latest CCC runs well forme since the last didn't work at all I was kindof suprised...no changesto my system at all.

Good point! I always tell lamo users the same ;-) I see things a bit
differently. OS and hotfixes have priority. There is a lot of work on my
HTPC environment (1/2 years old), so I don’t feel like reinstall the OS cus
one driver/app has a problem with whatever!

Reading it, with older CCC I felt exactly the same way. Sometimes it did
start, sometimes it dit not. And now since 4.10 it seems to be gone
forever. (still no error popup)

ATI did choose .crapy developer platform. So, there you go this direction,
but then do it right! Or enhance the catalyst with CLONE mode capability.

I will double check my services, some are not on default, I know that. Im
going to post soon if that helped.

when I run into strage unsolveable problems it becomes time to format ....
I format and thier gone...... 100%

then again my systems setup 100% correctly and basic performance tweaked
the same exact way every single time.....

Unless people are loading .net 1.0 LOL, not the 1.1 .net
also many have said to try .net 2.0 beta nd that fixes somes issues

I've used both for longer then I can legally tell you and never had a loading problem on 3 machines with every release offical and otherwise... i've never had a loading problem..... so all I can do is be dumb founded and pick up on the reccomendations of others that appear to work for some....

most time people complaning will have not formated in forever, built thier own system, and tweaked windows in some way...... loaded maybe some incompatable 3rd part tweaker / cleaner / or something....

multiple systems many many formats and reinstalls and to have never had a loading problem I'm either lucky and win the lotto every time or thier is something else in play... it just we havn't put our finger on it yet......

If anyone lives in southern INDIANA, USA I'd love to see one of these systems thats have this issue 1st hand... If anyones willing to let thier system become a geni-pig ... I mean you'd come over and i'd look at it format/reinstall it with your windows disks / key etc.... and set it up and see if it still has the issue...

I've yet to seen he problem 1st hand it so I can't work neraly as well at solveing it

I suppose I would like to add that I hope DriverCleaner includes an ACEcleaner as I would like it to clean out the CCC as well cuz I know itsstaying in there in new driver installs cuz my settings are stillthere. Yes I COULD go into the registry and delete the key butDrivercleaner works great and I would love to see that feature includedin future versions

Neon, I wish i couldbringMycomp to Indiana for you to see.I've tried everything Icanthinkof,short of reformatting (just don't have time right now)andstillcannot get the CCC to load.I just get that freakin' splashscreen(hatethat thing)and then nothing.I've tried..

- Uninstall .net 2.0 beta,run ATI uninstaller,bootintosafemode,rundrivercleaner,run regcleaner.reboot ,reinstall.net2.0beta,reinstall 5.1w/CCC, reboot.Try to start CCC,splashscreen,nothing.

- Tried resetting all my windows services back to XP SP2 defaults.Still get just the splash screen and it will not load

- Tried disabling DEP ,still won't load ???

Any more suggestions ? I'll be willing to try ,just won't be able togetaround to reformatting for awhile ,nor do I think I should needtojustto get a control panel to load.

The CCC doesn't even work on my computer, even with the .net framework. When I try to run it nothing happens. The previous versions of the CCC didn't work either and b/c of this I can only use the CP. Any idea how I could fix this.

I gave CCC another try. I revert all services to default. Still hopeless!

Also I did uninstall all versions of .Net. Now 2.0 beta1 is the only one on my system.

Uninstalled ATI CCC – Installed again.

Waste of time!

Rage3D is gathering infos from affected users. ¦ Rage3D Forum ¦ So, there is definitely somethings wrong with this application.

No application or driver should coause this much trouble. It is up to ATI to fix this, not user or Microsoft. I had similar problems with 5.1 as I see many others have.

I had the same problem with CCC 6.2 not starting up. cli.exe would be loaded but CCC will try to load multible copied of cli.exe and that will be blocked by either a antivirus program or some spyware sweeper programs.

When i disabled my Webroot Spy Sweeper it sarted up with no problems.
