Sad Catalyst 5.1 drivers causing me problems

How come i have never had any probs with catalyst drivers before and all of a sudden i do with the latest catalyst 5.1 driver?

It makes my pc hang, whenever i restart pc with this driver? PC almost loads up, but just b4 desktop comes up screen goes black?

Had to go back to catalyst 4.12.

It's ok this time, cos there are no real perofmance improvements inthe5.1 driver. BUT i am sure later on in the year new drivers willhavesome and i will want to use them.

Is this just a one off? i hope so

The Catalyst 4.12 is faster than the 5.1 in many applications, so you don't really get disadvantages while using it. I still recommend the 4.12.

Feel free to look at the arcticle in my signature, maybe you feel better then.

Greetings from Germany,

Raff

Not the only one ... I have lockups with 5.1 also. All previous releases from 4.3 -4.12 work ok, but 5.1 just isn't working. HAve 9600 XT. 3Dmarks are acting strange - having stutters in 3dmark2003, choppy video (seen it also on a 9600 pro - CCC seems to be the source of this), and haevy lockups in 3dmark2001SE - with no reboot, just blue screen before logon. 4.12's are working good and stable and have better performance here.
BTW, tried CCC and no CCC.
