5.1 drivers are great. But I don't think overdrive working on 9600xt.

I can't get overdrive working at all with them. When I did check it. 3dmark01se ran crappy. and when I uncheck it. It still ran crappy and I had formated it. I haven't run 3dmark01se yet after freash format yet. I'd let you know later on.

5.1 lock up for me on game test 3 - can you confirm? Sapphire 9600xt Fireblade here. OVerdrive seems to be normal. I found out that Ati tool somehow messes with this, at least in 0.22 version ... Have it installed?

I have a Sapphire 9600XT 256mb and I've never been able to get Overdrive to show up as an option more than once. It will appear (either ATI Control Panel or Catalyst Control Center depending on which I installed with the driver) the first time after driver install but after the first time it goes away and never shows up again in either CCC or Ati Control Panel. This behaviour happens on a fresh install of Windows XP and SP2 with no 3rd party programs like ATITOOL installed whatsoever.

I wonder if it is something in the BIOS on the Sapphire card?

Oops. I did not know that. I disabled that service from starting automatically. Sheesh. I'm a retard.

Thx for the info.

NP. I tried third install today driver + CP separated, and all installations lock up in 3dMark 2001. Also evident stuttering in 3dmark03 and 01, and after the stutter - crash. After reset, can not log on to windows. Rolling back to 4.12s solves this. Game test 3 is not in question - lockups are just happening in 3dmark2001. Anyone?
