Damn heavy and exclusive options that we can only access with it installed i would give a "0" but "1" is the best u let me give.

Good set. The control panel is much more responsive now.
There is still much more to do with it such as improving startup time but it's really coming together now hence my 8/10.

I've never rated CCC above a 5 as of yet. I have noticed this new version does start faster, which is a big improvement right off the bat. 3D Refresh Rate Override works great now, for some reason it was there but never seemed to make a difference before. I love the new option to be able to toggle settings from the task tray icon instead of starting CCC, that is a BIG bonus! I'll rate these higher then previous versions, giving them a 7. Nice improvements!
It would be nice to see some of those new skins for it some day from the contest.

CCC 5.1 and 5.2 releases were/are really good. Everything is working good and because of the new nice systemtray changing 3d feature it gets a 8/10 this time from me as opposed to 7/10 from the 5.1 release

CCC5.x is very excellent driver for 3D Graphic or Game.

but still have some problem of TV-OUT and Theater Mode not Perfect. ( ai~ only me mention that )
may be it is not Driver's Failure , maybe directshow & something.
coz theater mode can't work when i rotate the main LCD MON 90゜ to Portrait mode .

Ok, first thing to say: I really like the CCC (in advanced mode of course ), but since the Monitor Properties got implemented I can't tell the CCC that my monitor can do more than 60 Hz (Iiyama Vision Master Pro 400, no DDC and looks like EDID is reportet wrong).
In 'Monitor Properties 0' the Maximum resolution is automatically set to 1600x1200 (this is ok) and the refresh rate to 60Hz (this not ok at all), everytime I set it above 60Hz (should be 160) and click apply it jumps back to 60.... this really sucks...
I can "fix" it with AtiRefreshFix (it pushes both values to maximum) but I really like to see this fixed because I have no money for a new monitor ...

I have the same problem with the refresh rate on my primary monitor which is connected via BNC thus no dcc. Even though i have the monitor driver installed and i even can select the refresh rate i want (85Hz) in CCC but it doesn't apply it when i try to force it , it just stays at 60Hz. What seems to be the problem is that EDID is enabled and i can't disable it(it's greyed out) to set refreshrate options manually. My workaround is that before installing CCC i install the old CP and set the refreshrates accordingly as it seems to work fine there and then install CCC and then it works fine and EDID is disabled and i can set everything to my liking

What the **** is this?

This is the first time I have installed CCC, and I have to say what a useless heap of dog poo it is. No wonder ATI are taking so long to iron out bugs in their drivers when they are wasting so much time make this pointless CCC, what, I say what, is wrong with the old Control panel? It done everything the user could ever wish for. Ha, even the system info on the CCC was wrong. I wanted to give it a big fat zero, just like it deserves.

After turning on computer, ATI icon does not appear in the system tray. Am currently using .Net 1.1's and had similar problem with icon not showing up until i installed the .Net 2 betas. the .Net 2 betas corrected the system tray icon problem but the tradeoff was that with the .Net 2 betas when shutting down my computer i'd always get a "Windows Parking Forms" program window which i'd always have to "end task" in order to shut down my computer. No big deal but still annoying. Also when opening up the CCC from the desktop icon for the first time, the flash screen race car graphics was all distorted. just a bunch of lines and stuff. closed out and opened back up and didn't happen again. Never had that proglem before. Used all the blah blah cleaners as usual.

Specs:
Pentium 2.24ghz
1024mb PC800 RDRAM
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256
SB Audigy 2 ZS
Windows XP SP2
.Net 1.1

Pretty funny. I get home from work today after just posting the previous post today and to my surprise Windows update has a .net patch. I installed it not thinking that it would fix anything with the missing ATI system tray icon, but after rebooting. Sure enough the tray icon is there. Wow. Amazing. Finally. Now if only I can figure out why the driver stutters more with my games than the 5.1's.

CCC 5.x Doesn't Work For Me At All!

What's changed between versions 4.12 and 5.x, as CCC causes the PC to invoke the VS.net debugger everytime Windows (XP) is loaded?! As a consequence I've gone back to the 'old' control panel...

I'd love to say what the error is, but as I've already uninstalled CCC, I can't really say what it was, something to do with a load exception....

(I've changed my mind, I'll re-install and post an image in a minute, as I know its hard to QA without all the details!).

Ultimately they're still okay I see some performance improvements but there's still too much bloat, I really wish they'd remove the reliance on .net.. I hate .net.

I do however appreciate ATI's efforts to improve but I've gone back to the standard CP and use ATI Tool Tray to access settings (Radlinker Rocks too)

IMHO

I spoke too soon. Windows .net update didn't fix anything. The ATI system tray icon still does not bring up the menu when clicked. It does very sporadically. Sometimes I have to hit restart runtime 10 times before I can even get the CCC up and running from the desktop icon. Yeah, I agree that .Net is the problem. I just havn't heard any great solution. .Net 2 beta let the CCC work but when shutting down the pc i'd get a "ending windows parking forms" window which usually would not end, so i'd have to manually end this each time before shutting down the pc which is a pain. So i'm still at a loss with all this.

I gave it a 7. Much more responsive than the 4.12's. I'll bet that when Microsoft finally releases .net 2.0 the CC will be a very nice app. Still reports the wrong max resolution on my monitor as 1920x1080 instead of 1280X1024 though using DDC and EDID enabled max refresh rate is reported correctly though at 75Hz. I'd like to see an OGL tab as well in a future release though. Unless I got a bad install I don't see one.

I voted 4 coz it took me 3 attempts to install that driver!
After uninstalling the 5.1 and even using DC3 still was something wrong.
Starting games showed a white screen for some seconds and the 3D Preview in the CCC played scratchy with streaks. Using the cat-uninstaller in my 3rd attempt then fixed the problem. However, Far Cry is still not loading due to critical exception error even I updated my CPU and got 1 gig ram. I deeply regret my switch to ATi

The new CCC is a good improvement...but their still is some problems/issues with it

- ATI CCC doesn't always want to start up when clicking on it?
This happens when exiting a game and wanting to access CCC.
- Slow response time when rigth clicking on the ATI icon in the tray

Otherwise a good release except the the CCC panel not starting/responding at times.

Thanx CM and ATI team for the great releases

Hotkeys

my Hotkeys keep resetting with the 5.2s

I normaly assign hotkeys to "Increase/decrease 3D gamma" and "Restore 3D color defaults", sometimes they are still there and sometimes they are gone after a reboot.

The only thing I can count on is that the "LaunchDashboard" hotkey is back after a reboot no matter how often I try to unset it.

That brings up another Question: why must I use A-Z for Hotkeys, why can't I use this damn useless Windows-Key for Hotkeys. Please Catalyst-dev team take a look at "Global Hotkeys" from "Winamp 5" these work perfectly and can use every key.

Ah, and for closing my post a litte bugreport:
I'm from Germany, so I have these "ö / ä / ü" keys on my keyboard, when I try to use these for hotkeys the CCC crashes with an exception...

RIV@NVX will become famous soon enough
System Specs

It doesn't even run on my machine... and I don't understand why. Previous versions worked.
I still prefer the CPanel/RadLinker, but most people say that CCC is getting better. I will try next release and see what happens then.
