Games return 'Drivers out of date' with newest drivers?

I just installed Radeon Omega Drivers 2.6.05a and as with the previous 2.5xxBeta, when running diagnostics I get error messages. dxdiag says that DirectX functionality is not available. I just installed KOTOR2 and this was the output of the driver info:

System Specs

Did you follow good driver installation practice:
1. Uninstall old driver, reboot
2. Clean with Driver Cleaner in safe mode
3. Unplug your network cable, then boot into normal mode.
4. Install the new driver
5. Reboot.

From what it sounds like, Windows has automatically installed MS-Provided driver, and then OpenGL did not get installed properly because of that.
