Dual Monitor not running - 1's a cintiq

edit - the previous intro was bull. I was confused! It does have a DVi and AGP out, so it should in theory work.

Only thing is, it senses the other monitor (my cintiq 15x) and allows me to play with the displays after a workaround replugging monitors in (keeping the cintiq off whilst doing so) but when I turn the LCD on I get a no signal message, despite the control panel telling me that it senses the cintiq and it's on. OK, it seems idiotic - I already know that it can't do two at a time - but is there a workaround to this?

Can I get a DVI/S-video cable to use it as a secondary monitor? Or am I doomed to plug and unplug it until I can afford a new graphics card or a macintosh (shudders)? Is there a way?

Please help a frustrated new Cintiq owner desperate to play with his new toy!

OK, no help here?

Seriously, it's a Radeon problem, not a Cintiq issue. The thing works perfectly. Proof of pudding - in safe mode the Cintiq AND the Monitor both display the same picture, the Cintiq with the added bonus of being able to move the mouse around with the pen. Only thing is, safe mode doesn't include Cintiq drivers.

So, what's the deal here? Evidently the Radeon IS capable of clone pictures on both monitors, if not an extended desktop. Do the Omega's help with this? Suggestions? Even if I change my desktop settings, through a VGA to DVi straight to the Cintiq, the Cintiq tells me the refresh is too high despite the setting change.

I've seen it working, I've seen it work perfectly on an iMac. Do I need a new g-card to get it up to scratch? Do newer Radeons support multiple displays without all this headache?

Someone please help! Many thanks in advance!

Lordy, someone MUST be able to suggest something. Please. It's like £500's worth of stuff not running because of something going waco with the drivers. WITHOUT drivers (uninstalled) the thing works fine, I can use it. ATM it's off despite the dual screen option being on.

System Specs

Have you tried swapping the drivers? I had no problem whatsoever with 2 monitors and a 9800 Pro. One DVI-D, one via standard VGA connector.

About Cintiq... is it the touch-panel that you can draw on?

Does cintiq have both VGA and DVI capabilities? Or just one?

Are there any drivers you need to install for Cintiq?

I am just going through everything that goes in mind, since it looks like Cintiq is not one of the most popular pieces of hardware.

How are the monitors connected to the card? Directly to the card (VGA and DVI) or do you have to use a DVI-to-VGA dongle?

Well, not having a DVI-DVI cable, it's installed on a DVI-VGA on the DVi link on the Radeon, and in turn hooked up to a VGA-DVI cable to the Cintiq. It worked on the Mac, and it worked on the PC sans drivers and in safe mode.

There is an IRQ sharing on 16 between my Radeon and the Creative Audigy 2 I've got. Could that be a problem?

Yup, it's a pressure sensitive touch-panel LCD. I love 'em! Drivers are installed on the cintiq and it works beautifully without Cat's installed. Basically, it's the display part which is a problem. Even without drivers installed, part of it works purely as an LCD display so it should work purely as a monitor too.

BTW what do you mean re swapping the drivers?

Fixed it. It was the IRQ sharing.
