Radeon 8500 -> FireGL 8500 (help needed)

Forge: Thanks for testing, I now know the OpenGL doesn't work (yet). I'm on vacation so I can't play with them right now.

D3D seems to be working, OGL is broken, and all my apps that would show a difference are OGL-only.

*shrug*

Seems to work. Went back to Catalyst 3.0's.

The magical Radeon -> FireGL resistor for the R300 has been found. Now we need a FireGL X1 BIOS, or a reasonable facsimile thereof! Anybody got friends in the CAD/CAM dept at work/school???

For those with 9100s:

this thread is kinda old? atleast the drivers you talk about is, Soffy if I bump. I'm using atis FireGL 3056 drivers on my 8500 in win2k, got how to crack them from a thread in rage3d, here http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthre...ht=firegl+8800

But I also got the failed installation in win2k, it seems that they missed out something in the .inf-file, this:
In the Original cracked inf-file:
ATI Fire GL 8500 Video Accelerator=FGLRX,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_514C
I just added &SUBSYS_013A1002 so it looks like this, and it worked:
ATI Fire GL 8500 Video Accelerator=FGLRX,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_514C&SUBSYS_013 A1002

Got &SUBSYS_013A1002 from the inffiles for the Catalysts, there is 2 8500 in there with different subsys, only the first one worked for me.

Hi,

I tried your mod with my Hercules 8500LE. It didnÂ´t work for my. After installing the drivers and rebooting Windows asks me to install new drivers again....

Any suggestions ?

Test what i've written, I too use a 8500LE FDX from Hercules, although wÃ*th a bios for 8500

not until I added that subidthingie in the .infdriver.
Checked Hercules own subsyses, use on of these instead of the one I used:

instead of yours.

Thanks, with these new drivers my screen seems to be sharper :-) Now I i have a really clear screen.

Anyone knows whether ATI will release some new drivers for the FireGL8800 ? ;-)

Hi,

I tried the same procedure with Windows XP. After rebooting my screen goes off. So for me it seems to work only with Windows 2000.
