Catalyst 5.3 for Driv3r

Hi I just baught Driv3r yesturday. I had ATI Catalyst 5.2 and the game ran fine except for a few crashes. I then upgraded to Catalyst 5.3 and now I get graphic lag for no reason. The game goes smooth and then suddenly it doesn't. It is very annoying. Does anybody know how I can fix this?

did you cleanly install the drivers over the top of 5.2 or???

I cleared out everything of Catalyst 5.2. I did a clean install of 5.3. I just tested Doom 3 and that game seems to run just fine its only Driv3r that is giving problems.
