arrow AGP Speed set to 'OFF' in CP of 5.3 Cat

I recently upgraded my system with new >>

Athlon 64 3200+
ASUS K8S-MX Mobo
512 MB DDR Kingston

Ever since the upgrade, the AGP Settings in CP (of Gigabyte Radeon 9600XT) are showing AGP speed as 'OFF'.
I haven't experienced any problems in any games or 3d apps, and I suspect that these new changes aren't affecting me cause the AGP speed is set to 8x in BIOS menu. I think motherboard is controlling these settings, but I am still unsure of what I am supposed to think of these changes. Is there some problem or is this normal?

BTW, after upgrading, I reformatted and re-installed windows XP Pro and Cat 5.3 drivers (from ATI site).

That's my problem.

Uninstall catalyst drivers, install or update your chipset drivers and reinstall the cat drivers.

Already done that.

Did a clean install of catalyst drivers after cleaning up with Driver cleaner, and updated the mobo drivers from ASUS website.

I had that problem before also and I found that installing your motherboards agp drivers works! And yes I know it says in the bios thats its AGP 8x just try that and I am sure it will work.
