If your agp texture thingy isnt working, then your motherboard chipset drivers arent installed, or need to be reinstalled, or....yea...

If the AGP Aperture size in the BIOS is set too small, you can have this problem as well. Make sure it is at least 32MB, with 128MB probably being the better option. You can find updated VIA 4-in-1 drivers at http://www.viaarena.com This is VIA's official support website. The 4-in1's are the chipset drivers.
Hope this helps.

Just for grins, try lowering the AGP Aperture to 128MB. 256MB really is too big for a system with only 512MB of RAM.
You might want to try running SmartGart and having it retest all. That may be of some help as well.

The AGP Aperture is a specially reserved part of system RAM that is alloctaed to handle transfers between it and the AGP Bus. It's really not a good idea to allocate more than 25% of your system RAM to it. It's been shown over and over that 128MB is as large as it needs to be, if even that. You don't need to match it to the amount of RAM on your video card.
Did installing the new 4-in-1's help? Did you run SmartGart and Retest all?

Don't know if this will help but when i turned off AGP Read to off (in advanced smartgart) AGP Texture Acceleration greys out. Turn it on if you have it off you should be able to enable AGP texture acceleration

I had exactly the same problem with my VIA board. The 4in1s dont install properly on my board and I had to unpack them manually and then install them manually via device manager.
The 4in1s from viaarena.com didnt install properly on my rig but the ones from my mobo manufactuer installed fine (abit). Try and get them direct from your mobo manufacturer. |

Glad you got it working. I wish VIA would make chipsets more AGP friendly
9 times out of 10 the "chipset drivers broke AGP" stories are from VIA owners....oh well, aside from that they make rock solid chipsets ![]() But yes, some mainboard companies have drivers on their site that often are more stable with their products then the latest release. |
