??? Problem installing the Plutonium Driver

Dear Cyborg

I habe a HP Omnibook XT1500 with an Mobility Radeon 7500 (M7-C). I followed all the instructions given in the Uninstalling ATI Drivers guide (deinstalling driver, clean registry etc.).

My problem is, that Win XP pro does not install the standard VGA driver. It installs a driver called VGA SAFE. When I try to install the Plutonium driver I get the message that I should try to install a standard VGA driver. I cannot find any standard VGA driver on my Harddisk nor on the WinXP pro install disk.

How can I install the Plutonium anyway?

Thank you for any help.

Maybe running Windows Update may help select the Standard VGA Driver..

The standard VGA driver is installed after you uninstall, reboot, regclean and reboot. It's what allows you to see the screen, albeit at a crappy resolution before you install the new driver.

Try rebooting again... only thing I can think of is you might have accidentally deleted the motherboard chipset AGP driver... head to HPs site and reinstall. Might help.

Otherwise just install the latest HP drivers, then install Cyborgs over them. That's what he does.

Windows update won't do anything.
