In tweaking my new vid card (X850XT PE) a friend is saying that Fast Writes should be enabled in the BIOS and disabled in Display Properties?
I've have them disabled in both? Now I'm really confused ... Which is correct? Thanks for the help. |

they supposedly give 1-2 fps increase, but can cause system stability issues. They have to be turned on in bios and in display for it to work. Test it out to see if it can work for you. All in all, the overall opinion is that it is unneeded

I've NEVER had any problems whatsoever with fastwrites enabled; my luck I guess. But people forget to mention that fastwrites helps playing high-definition content with no dropped frames....

Thanks for the help guys ... but I need them off.
I always thought both in the BIOS and display. But a couple of friends said they've seen in forum to have them ON in the BIOS and off in display ... when you need them OFF. A search turned up nothing here ... but it's a tough search query. Might anyone know? |

well you can disable it in the bios and you should be able to ignore the setting in windows or you can enable it in the bios and change the setting in windows.
