CCC user survey: Resource usage with 5.6

What I’m doing is to look and see (and show) how much or how little
resources on average CCC uses in different environments.

What you need to do?
First you need to open the windows task manager
Hit: CTL + ALT + Delete

Then go to view, select columns, make sure the virtual memory size box is checked,
click okPost here the CLI.exe Memory usages for each instance like so:

#1
Mem Usage:
VM usage:

#2
Mem Usage:
VM usage:

#3
Mem Usage:
VM usage:

right click the tray application and choose exit , to close it
note the two remaining CLI's information again....

#1
Mem Usage:
VM usage:

#2
Mem Usage:
VM usage:

Please don’t do it with it CCC open I’m only after what is uses
When setting as is it would during normal use.

(You can post the open / closed number if you’d like but you
need t mark them as such and I don’t need them)

This is just for me, noting official, But I will do the needed math and report
back with the findings and average numbers. Won't work well unless i get a
decent amount of responces...

EDIT:

This is now part a multi forum polling I'm grabbing results from a couple other sites as well

You sure about that one I bolded the result seems "strange"/off.
enough to strew the survey results. Also you needed to close the system
tray application and note the useages again:

You really should reboot and check again then edit your post to reflect
the new / correct numbers. other wise I'll have to omit it in the interests
of being as accurate as possible.

Apologies if this is taking away from your research.

How is your's so low? Even on a fresh reboot of the system mine never gets that low and raises almost instantly. It rises even faster depending on how many times I actually open the control center.

@Neon Cowboy: ITs because the process wasn't being used, it was the tray icon. I rebooted and instantly this is what I got, but it hasn't changed much except they're all loaded into ram rather than the paging file :\

Nope. My system hasn't had a driver reinstall in a while though. Its acting really werid though...even with all that resource usage it isn't slow or sluggish in anyway.

You missed my point I think- It looks like you listed the VM as the Mem.

Hey, it is what it is. I don't know if its .NET bloat though because I do have a developer version of the .NET software which includes debugging runtimes and all that crap (Need it for Visual Studio.NET), so maybe that has something to do with it?

well after saying in another thread that i havn't used the ccc
and that it sounded like it would be a bad idea kind..
I figured i'd try it out..
(because a nother thread with "Terry from ATI" saying CP is gone by end of year)

first off i'd like to say its sad to here the CP is gonne be discontinued !
The bottom line is its nice to have a choice in things in life.
but it looks like Either no one still wants the CP ? Or ATI doesn't care either way ?

Well my conclusion ?
is "It's acceptable"
But I reeeeealy wish it didnt require .net though !

I have had 3 systems here and 2 at my parent house plus one i've worked
on CCC never uses that much... the amound does verry though from time to time
lesser or a little greater. thush i'm not looking for an exact result but a geral one
with this survey...

I am a pc tech and know what i'm doing my question is really what can
you guys be doin, not doing, thats resulting in more useage. Be it you system, configeration, or what... if i could figure it out i'd surely tell you.. I'm as confused
about your high useage as you are about my low ones...

check you .net folder
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\
you have a folder, v1.0.3705, v1.1.4322 right?

you have loaded .net 1.1,
then went to window update got .net 1.1 sp1,
then back again for the security update?

(MS needs to hurry up an get .net 2.0 finished though
they seemed to help .net alot with 1.1 sp1)

You didn't post you results did you
I might have you guys try a few things later if you want

I figure i'd post this just for any non belivers

Whats with the blurring, hehe. Something in there we shouldn't know about?

Anyway I find mine goes lower in terms of just mem usage if I leave them alone for a while. They tend to shrink down to bare minimums
