??? Radeon 7200 and Windows 2000 problems

Hello, I have this friend who has this problem and I was hoping you all might be able to help him out.

"Hey! I have this REALLY annoying problem with my windows 2000. It kind of happens after some time, every time I have a windows 2000 installation.
My colors get MESSED UP!! They just turn into low color-icons. I don't know why, it just happens all of a sudden. I tried "Rebuilding the icons" (which solved it once!) with tweakui and under Display Properties > Effects, I have "Show icons using all possible colors". I have 32 bit colors selected.. so I don't understand why they are so ugly.

System:
MSI KT3 Ultra motherboard, AMD XP 1900+, Radeon 7200, Scott 17" Monitor.. Windows 2000 w/ service pack 3

Radeon 7200
Driver Date: 12-10-2002
Driver Version: 6.13.10.6200"
