920x720 resolution with refresh rate higher than 60hz, would it be possible?

i buy radeon 9550 to replace my gf 440mx, while using my 440mx i can add my custom resolution: 960x720, why? because on my 17" monitor the font on 800x660 are too 'big' , and 1024x768 too small .

i couldn't find similar tool to do that on catalyst driver, so i try to use many tools out there to add my custom resolution (actually i dont need these tools, slighty change on monitor driver (*.inf file) would do the job)

now the problem is: i can't set refresh rate higher than 60hz
is there any way to do this?

plese do not suggest me to increase the DPI or font size, because some icons would looks bad if i do that, and some text/image on some apps like will be truncated/resized.

thnx, pardon my english

System Specs

Try using RefreshForce (http://www.pagehosting.co.uk/rf/) to specify the frequency.

And welcome to the forum.

Turn off the option in the display properties that says "Hide Refresh rates this monitor does not support", that basically limits you to refresh rates other than 60 Hz at standard resolutions like 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200 etc

thx for the replay

Still, RefreshForce only gives me 60hz, so do unchecking the "Hide Refresh rates this monitor does not support"

BTW, I download OmegaDriver and give it a try, this driver not only give me 960x720 resolution but also 60hz, 75hz, and 85hz refresh rate. (probably zer0point and NGO driver too, i haven't tried these two)

AFAIK, the omega driver author only do a modification to the original driver only, and he don't even use a programming language (CMIIW).

HOW could he do that? anyone knows?
