They work excellent for me 9/10, along with the improved CCC. I didn't install CCC last time with the 5.6 due to the fact of unneeded bloating, but you guys (ATi) have done some great work with the Control Centre and things are running really smooth. I'd still like to see the OpenGL and Direct3D in different tabs but I think I can grin and bare it due to the stability and performance that you've added to every driver set, another sATisfied customer.

Cheers

On AquaMark3 the score dropped from 44,391 to 43,641. I get random artifacts in various games, and texture corruptions. These drivers just added problems to the 5.6's, and are absolutely terrible.

I gave it 10/10.

3dmark05 score, Cat 5.3s - 2019
3dmark05 score, Cat 5.7s - 2260

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1028136

My qualitative analysis of BF2 gameplay suggest slightly better framerate. Hard to judge w/o an ingame demo like source though.

Very good.

Gave'm an 8 score. Stable, stable and stable, which is good but haven't noticed any appreciable speed bumps in games though but with the addition of my new 20" LCD with a native resolution of 16x12 I guess I'm close to being tapped out speed wise anyway. I like'm.

Well i got an extra 100 3dmarks with 3dmark05 from 2500-2600, and slight improv in pcmark 04, no tests in gaming yet, and no improv in 3dmark03.

More importantly i get an extra 10 FPS with CS:S , D3 has same quality

Most excellent work on this driver Catalyst Team!! I can play Comanche 4 at 1024 by 768 resolution and 32 bit color, and it runs smooth (just as smooth as at 800 by 600 and 16 bit color depth. That's fantastic! There are no stops in frame rate as with older drivers. Before, trying to play at this resolution and color bit depth was ridiculous (like playing in slow motion), so I didnt try it for about a year til now. I always played at 800 by 600 and 16 bit color depth and D3D and Open GL at best performance. I still have D3D and OpenGl at best performance, but I'm pleased with the performance of this driver with C4 running at 1024 by 768 and 32bit color!

I read the release notes for this driver release and saw that there was suppose to be a performance increase for Comanche 4, so I tried it. This driver performs great, ATI!!

Thanks for remembering us Comanche 4 players! We are still playing C4 religiously. hehe Thanks to you (ATI), I only have to worry about Internet lagg, now, because you've done some great work on the last 2 driver releases, in my view.

I know it's not my place to say so, but you Catalyst Team folk are sure earning your pay over there!

I'm gonna try raising D3D and OpenGL for better quality.

Again, thanks for the great work!

Edit:

Of course, I rated this driver 10/10 oh yeah and all the C4 settings are at Max.

Edit 2:

This driver works great with D3D and OpenGL set at Balanced, 1024 by 768 resolution, and all C4 settings maxed! Great work Catalyst Team!

Gave 'em a 9. Visual quality is very good as some minor Z-buffer effects (distant textures like signs on far-off objects) in 5.6 seem to be cleared up. I've seen about a 5% increase in benches (AquaMark: 39700, 3DMark '03: 8844, using standard settings).

Visual quality with "fancy water" like HL2/CS or "mother nature scenes" in 3DMark seems much better, also noticed that tracer marks from gunfire and sparks from explosions seem to be more clear and noticable rather than getting washed out or made too faint when behind fog (the first two games in 3DMark '03 show this clearly).

I've only run through some HL and CoD, yet, but I'm happy with those, and I want to hit Rome:TW and see how that is doing. I might even break out Thief 3 since the shadows seem improved, too.

One thing I noticed that the frame rate when doing multi-texture fill test varies with Cat 5.7 rather than being completely stable, there seems to be a bit of shuddering, although the actual performance seems to have gone up slightly compared with before. It almost seems as though the card gained an extra cache that it can use for a little while with higher performance than normal, but then runs out of extra juice and falls back to the same fill rate/performance it had before with the older driver revs.

Thumbs up and thanks, ATI, a good release!

I gave them 9. It seems that Earth 2160 works a bit better now with Cats 5.7 and there are no texture errors on Radeon 9600Pro

Good drivers.
Got an 9/10 from me.
Of course I wish Ati could dedicate a little more time, or maybe just release a good fix to a lot of games at a time, I would like to see Kotor 1 + 2 sorted out without having the user to resort to a bypass.

I gave them 8 /10.

Even though my 3dmark05 score increased by 100+ points I was disappointed this set didn't fix the BF2 texture corruption for my Asus X800XT.

System Specs

This is the first time I actually rated a driver at 10. Surprisingly enough, there are very few issues, mostly engine-related (GTA:SA is one). And stability is simply fabulous, even when GTA chokes, VPU recover takes good care of it, and nothing is lost. Love it.

gave it a 9 since i dunno if the crashes in TM Sunrise and BF2 has to do with drivers

but

is 64 FPS in DOOM3 Ultra settings a good result?

Keep getting ATI2MTAG errors (unknown codec) with these drivers (also with cat 5.6).
Using the old Cat 5.5 now without any problems.
Had same problem with the latest Omega drivers so I will stick to the old version for now.

Completly uninstalled the drivers (with tool) and deleted ATI files from windows/sys32/drivers, reinstalled them again, but same problem keeps comming up.
