Display flashes off and on instead of going into powersaver

Everytime my computer is supposed to go in power saver mode the screen just flashes on and off and wont shut off like it used to. I had no problem with it up until recently, any reason as to why it would do this instead of just shutting off the monitor?

I'm running
AMD FX-53
Asus A8V Deluxe MoBo
2 GB's of Ram
ATi x850 XT PE (5.7 Cat drivers)
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum

Maybe its related to the issue I'm having with my KVM switch. I hope they fix this. It hasn't reared its head until I installed the 5.7 Cats. I reverted to 5.6 for the time being.

Hmm for some stupid reason I didn't even think about the drivers, i'll try switching back tonite and see what happens.
