NGO 1.5.7 (ATi Catalyst 5.7) Are Out!

The new NGO's are out:

The NGO ATI Optimized Driver is a tweaked version of the ATI Catalyst driver. The main purpose is to satisfy the users with a better performance and better image quality. The Driver has support for all Radeon cards.

Changes:
* Updated base to Catalyst 5.7
* Added Ultra Edition
* Added support for more cards
* Updated OpenGL Driver Switcher

Ultra Edition:
The Ultra Edition is optimized for cards with 256Mb or more. It uses the ram in a more effective way in order to produce higher performance. It also may be used with 128Mb cards but don't expect the same level of performance gain.

Standard Edition:
The Standard Edition is recommended for All Radeon cards. This edition is especially recommended for those users that can't use the Ultra Edition.

Installation:
Please, uninstall your previous driver before proceeding with this Installation. Please use the ATI Catalyst Uninstall Utility in order to Uninstall your current driver.

Included Utilities:
* OpenGL Driver Switcher
* RefreshForce by Gregory Maynard Hoare
* ATI Tray Tools by Ray Adams

You can download them here:

I've just added the NGO 1.5.7 drivers to my Catalyst Performance Comparison. They are very good drivers, much better than their previous 3.5.6 set. I definantly recommend trying them out.

The only 2 CCC exclusive settings you can change w/ Omegadrivers are Geometry Instancing and A.I. (which can't be changed in the latest Omega drivers). Geometry Instancing you can change in NGO and A.I. is set to Standard as default.

Ive had bad success with NGO drivers to date and find the best results with the dhzeropoint drivers.

well i have a X800 256mb PCI-e card but can anyone even all the modders out there say honotly taht their drivers as they come can harm a Graphicscard i mean i have heard some crazy things about modded drivers make the clocks jiump a notch just like that and the card is OC´ed.

Now that can´t be true or?

so what exactly can happen as it´s worst if i use modded drivers and keep playing as usual

by that i mean no OC´eing at all just install them as they come

so can these modded drivers hurt the card during game play i.e Doom 3 HL2 FC etc #dmark apppz aquamark all that kind of use???

i don´t belive it but i´ve heard otherwise so that is why i ask

I agree with vyrticl, these drivers are very solid and have great performance for myself, I would recommend the ultra driver to anyone with 128 megs or higher on their ATi card.

Cheers

I forgot to write that
the above results is with ATI`s Cat 5.7 CCC and the below is on NGO 5.7

so this is on a new windows install.

notebook support?

Hi,
I must say I never heard of these NGO drivers but I m always willing to try sth new... But I have one question though, do they support notebook cards? Or better yet in my case IGP cards? I m asking cause I cant install the latest CAT 5.6s or 5.7s (neither ATI nor Omega)...
Cheers
