ATI Tray Tool install/config questions

Hi Ray, I just installed the latest 5.8 radeon drivers and your latest tray tools on my new Abit9600XT card and have a couple of questions:

The Fan section of the Overclocking menu indicates " no supported hardware found ", but the vGuru panel that came with the card allows control of fan speed vs. core temp so the hardware appears to support fan control. Is this a bug or?

The other question is on the Screenshot menu I specified to store them as jpegs but they are stored as bmp. What am I doing wrong?

Finally, is there a plugin that works with your Tray Tools that allows me to display Core Temp and Fan speed other than using LCDC or Smartie which I couldn't get to display that data?

The program is excellent, Ray, thanks for your efforts.

For FAN control. As I know ATT doens't support GigaByte boards with WinBond but I don't know about Abit 9600XT. Can you check it with RivaTuner?

About screenshots. Please read readme.txt about it. jpg/png will be only when any games are active and OSD enabled

I ran RivaTuner, and do not see any fan speed in the hardware monitoring category. I do see core and ambient temp. Can these be displayed in ATT?

The Abit vGuru control panel monitors and reports fan speed so the info must be there. It also reports core temp, core and memory speed so that data is also present.

What I mean is: Is there a plugin for ATT that allows the display of core temp and fan speed that doesn't require me to run LCDC or Smartie?

Thanks

If RivaTuner can show it, ATT showld shot it too.
Can you run RivaTuner with this parameters
RivaTuner.exe /i2cdump and send dump file to traytools(at)guru3d.com.

Ray, the data you want is available in RAR format at:

http://personal.idcomm.com/dhf/images/i2cdumps.rar

read the readme.txt file which explains the dumps and images of the vGuru panel

I was wondering where the option to change the clock speeds, then exiting ATI Tools when booting up into windows went.

I remember seeing this in an earlier version

??? ATT Question

Thank you for a terrific program, Ray. I am hoping that you can clarify something that has had me uncertain for some time. I trust this has not been asked a hundred times before.
If one has both ATI Control Panel and ATT installed, do the settings have to agree? If not, which program would take precedence? Would settings in ATI CP overrule ATT?
thanks.

No . I've told a lot of times. ATT works directly with Catalyst settings when applying and reading settings. Control Panel and CCC - when applying its change Catalyst values but when displaying current settings both of them reads settings from their own values! I don't want to update thouse values too. Why I have to do their job? Developers from ATI thinks that nobody can Change actual settings for Catalyst so no needs to read real values

Hi,

Can you please tell me how to remove the file right-click extension for att game profile. I am using the omega version of att.

Thanks.

Hi!
I have installed latest Omega drivers (5.12 based) and ATT but when I load ATT and try to play a game or just to go to screen properties-> advanced tab, the laptop freezes (I have an Acer laptop with x700 mobility). The same problem when I start 3Dmark05. I reinstalled the Drivers and ATT (I used driver cleaner pro, too) with no luck. If I don`t load the ATT everything is working fine. I have to say that I have the same problems also when I close ATT (so I have disabled the load with windows option of ATT).
Thanks!

It is known issue with X700 Mobility. Open atitray.ini and change opt_disable_i2c=0 to opt_disable_i2c=1. Close ATT before make changes

Ray,

I'm presently using the Extreme ATi drivers based on CAT 5.13. After installing them, I've installed the newest ATT and finished CoD2 earlier tonight. Then I played around with FLATOUT for a little while. In BOTH of those games my quickkey for Screenshots worked flawlessly. (F12 saved to a folder on my D Drive.)

Well, now I've started up F.E.A.R. and the OSD is working but my quickkey for SSs isn't. Do you have any idea as to why not?

Thx!!

HotKeys doesn't work under FEAR, because this game block all low level keyboard hooks.

NO expert here, but u could boot into safe mode and try to change the Tray Tools settings from there, or uninstall and Reinstall ATI TrayTools..

thanks, i tried safe mode and it wouldn't load tray tools. i don't see anyway to uninstall tray tools exclusively. oops, i was looking in control panel for the uninstall and all the time it was in the omega drivers.

This might be a dumb question but can I uninstall Catalyst Control Panel if I'm using ATT and still get AI?

pretty sure you'll be fine, i have never ran the CCC yet, and i always have the AI on low, or play around sumtimes on high in ATI tray tools, unless that is it just never worked!:P no, but remember when AI first came out Omega had it first in with radlinker before the officail cats even supported it.
