Bad Asus X800xt Problem: Strange Crash! HELP! :(

Hi to all i have a big problem with my new Asus X800XT
I' ve buyed it from some days and always i have this problem: when i start a game i see a black screen and at the center the white cursor of windows xp and then the computer be stopped and i must reset and restart!
This problem there is also when i push the button for enter in the catalyst control panel (the old panel)
But these problems happen sometime but always in a day!
How i must do? i'm disperate!!!
I' ve catalyst official 5.7 and i've tried to disactivate vpu recover, fast write, overdrive but nothing!
I' ve tried to set agp 4x but always nothing!
My hardware: 400watt zalman, asus p4c800deluxe, p4 3.2 ghz @ 800, ddr400 dual channel @ 800 corsair 512x2, xp pro sp2 with all updates
now i try the omega drivers but some problem!
I've tried only with driver based on 5.7, now i wait for the new 5.8!
Anyone haved this strange problem?

This sounds like a driver issue. You've mentioned buying a new X800XT which would mean the card is an upgrade, correct? If this is the case, I definitly recommend you run DriverCleaner between your Driver installations to remove all traces of your previous video card. I noticed a good performance and stability gain when I formatted by PC after a video card upgrade.

Also be sure that you have the latest chipsetr driver installed.

i haved cleaned with driver cleaner and right now i've re-installed the chipset drivers! if there is already this problem i will contact you here!

some problem and with cataòyst 5.5 when i have pushed the button for go to the control panel of ati i have a blue screen and error caused by this file: ati2dvag!
so are the driver!
