When will we see this in the Catalysts?

From the release notes of the latest nvidia detonator drivers:

"• Improved support for custom timings, including non-divisible by 8
resolutions on TMDS/LVDS panels, control of back-end and front-end
timings, and variable overscan shift values.
The driver can also present underscan modes on demand, and supports
variable underscan ratios."

Please tell me that they're going to implement this feature in the latest cats. So many people use their LCD/Plasma screens, and can't use their native resolutions because ATI's drivers won't allow anything thats not divisible by 8. I just bought this monitor, and I bought the card a little while before that. I really don't want to have to buy an nvidia card just so I can get my monitors native resolution.

Powerstrip cannot add this resolution unless you have an nvidia card, which support resolutions non-divisible by 8. That was the point to the whole post.

Ill repeat myself. Powerstrip CANNOT ADD THIS RESOLUTION UNLESS YOU HAVE AN NVIDIA CARD. Nvidia cards support resolutions non-divisible by 8. ATI does NOT. Do a google search. There is no ATI video card that supports HD Monitors native resolution of 1366x768, a non-divisible by 8 resolution which you claim is supported, regardless of using Powerstrip or not. Please read the posts instead of skimming through them next time.

OmegaRED, unfortunately Multires only gives me an 800x600 resolution with a virtual destop of 1366x768. While it's not what happens when I change it with Powerstrip (a seemingly 1280x768 desktop with a virtual desktop of 1366x768), its still unfortunately not being supported by my drivers.

They do however support 1360x768 I'm pretty sure 1366 is strange
I don't think that would be supported ....

1366x768 is the industry standard for HD monitors. That's why nvidia added support for them. Nevertheless, if you do your research you will see that ATI does not support those resolutions. You can check the AVS forums. Two things come into play. 1360x768 gives me a virtual desktop, as anything higher than 1280x1024 gives me a virtual desktop, and the second thing is that 1360x768 still is not my monitors native resolution. Just want to remind everyone that I'm using the latest Omegas.

still no custom resolutions or at least industry standard?

Hello,

I was desperately looking for a way to get the 1366×768 resolution for a LCD-TV monitor.

Now I found this post and not desperately looking anymore because it's hopeless?

Any news since last year?

"1366x768 is the industry standard for HD monitors."

I'm not sure where that information comes from. I have never seen a standard for HD monitors. This is a resolution for a LCD-TV, not a monitor or "HD Monitor". Standard resolutions for HD displays are 720p, 1080i and 1080p, which are 1280x720@60HZ, 1920x1080@30Hz and 1920x1080@60Hz IIRC.

Although I agree that 1366x768 should be added in, I think that a more effective way to go about it would be to add a feature for custom resolution creation so that everyone can stop whining

Cheers!
