I set the mobo from AGP 4X to AGP 2X and the problem persists.

Love the omega drivers, I've used them since I ad my Radeon 7200 3 yrs ago. I've got a wierd problem with these though. I've had it with all the drivers I've tried though so it's not limited to Omegas drivers. D3D stutters like Nick Nolte after a bad night on the G. It's in all my D3D games I've tried. OpenGL is fine runs smooth and no stutters but D3D is like playing while having a siezure. Over at Rage3d they have a thread up about it and one guy has a program called 3d analyze which fixes the stutter but with a performance hit. the program can be gotten from here www.tommti-systems.de, also the ATI gurus over there have suggested turning the windows Harware acceleration down a "notch" in the troubleshooting tab, which fixes the stutters but the mouse gets all gooey and is hard to control. Obviously not ideal solutions. I was wonderin if Omega had any knoweledge of this since I trust him to fix it more than I do ATI.

The ONLY ones that would work was the original 6255 drivers from mid-Dec.

I finally did the reformat, fresh OS install of XP Home Edition and things are fine now.

I, too, would like some kind of input as to why that particular file was causing a problem.

support 9100 series? can you please drive into modifying inf files to get support for 9100? I think it's only a matter of changing id, isn't it?

Sorry for not updating the drivers to the "new" Cat3a revision, but I have been very busy, and since the current release is working great I don't see the hurry.
But what I know that will be fixed in the next revision is (don't know if it will be 55a or newer, depends on the leaks):
1- Support for "RADEON IGP 340M"
2- Support for "RADEON 9100"
3- Support for "RADEON 9500 PRO"
4- Keep the current OpenGL DLL (instead of the Cat3a) since the Alpha Blending bugs still there (test it with Wizardry 8).

I'll keep you informed when the next revision is due...

Omegadrive please also look into the DVI problem, which where always around in the offical ATI drivers but never with your driversets, but are also in ur last 2 sets.

Something about this problem is in this topic: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showthre...&threadid=9648

He did use refreshfix to correct the problem, he did change these settings:

this enabled me to disable some of the advanced functions found in CAT 3 such as:
DFP hot plug; LCD controller, DDC2.

With these diasabled i was able to manually set the monitor type and freq/resolutions using the RefreshFix utility on both the primary and secondary adapters.

i have both the D-sub and DVI connected to my LCD panel (has both inputs and can swap between them).

When i boot up, the DVI interface initiates first, so i get digital quality, and XP is now Showing the Welcome Screen....

Hey gaborn415, are you running XP with system restore enabled? If so, turn off system restore and see if that helps with your stuttering.

System Specs

Should I install these if I have already tweaked my own drivers?

Depends on whether or not you like the way your drivers are tweaked..

Sorry to quote you, but after seeing #3 above, I guess that answers the question as to why I get an error saying I don't have a card to match the drivers.
