Work in progress along with the 9800SE mod, and some other tricks

I'm running an X800 XT Platinum Edition card, and when I try to install these, I get the error "This display driver is not compatible with the dsiplay adapter(s) installed in your system." The standard Catalysts and Omega's both install fine, so I know the problem lies just with this driver set.

Doesn't this usually mean there's some entry missing in the inf files that lists my card, so the drivers aren't recognizing it? If so, just wanted to give you a heads up for the final release of the drivers.

In the meantime, anyone know of a fix for the aboe error and how to force these drivers to install?

Nope, a Sapphire. The problem might be that my X800 XT Platinum is an AGP part, which I hear were released in very low numbers, so it's an easy card to overlook when crafting custom driver sets..

Device ID = 4a50

I am not sure what you guys did, but I am very impressed w/ these drivers. I have only tried one game, but it will be the game I play the most for a while (Madden 06), and these drivers made a huge difference. For the past 2-3 years whenever my team would break the huddle, or when I would bring up the play diagram the game would stutter no matter what settings or drivers I would use. I figured it was just my PC or crappy EA coding. However after installing these drivers those stutters are totally gone. It felt so weird playing w/o the stutters because they had become almost like part of the game to me.

Its the same for my friend with Battlefield 2 - as i said earlier he was going to buy another 1 gig of ram as he is a total battlefield2 junkie. As I love the dhzeropoints so much on my nvidia card I recommended he give these a shot, so he did (he doesnt like modded sets as he had bad experiences). Anyway he installed the drivers and we both couldnt believe the differences. The frame rate isnt higher than the offical drivers but the smoothness is brilliant, he is over the moon and says he is going to join up here to thank you guys, if he can stop playing the game now that is.

But major kudos guys, Zer0point drivers are getting the name for ingame smoothness. I think that should be your motto. I hope you continue to work on IQ and in game smoothness rather than 3dmark crap, who cares about that garbage anyway.

"dhzer0point - the smoothest drivers on the net"..........

well until the catalyst 5.8 realese i dropped al 3dmark aquamark benches and did fraps on games instead wich gives a more "real" measurment on the drivers so i skipped all 3dmark benches forever now it is game paly that i look for

I'm that tester! The thing is that mine is an AGP VIVO flashed to XT PE. No problems here so far.

Spellbot, try running the setup.exe in the drivers directory rather than the main setup.exe and then the setup in the CP directory, will help me narrow down where the error is....

Installing these really messed up my computer, not even a uninstall would stop it, it made everything in 8bit colour! It said change the colour mode as it too low, so i tried and it said the card controller was made for a differant version of windows? Luckly a on top installed off ATI drivers fixed this! I dont know what happened here guys, since others got them to install fine?

:/

UnTouchAble:
You should use DriverCleaner Pro 1.2 first before installing the drivers, then it should work fine.
