removed the link, as leaked betas aren't in any way beneficial to the community, and seldom work without a hitch anyways.

Good find though

Ummm, what about the 5.8 beta leak? DH had it before ATI had it on their site.

Besides, where does it say leaked betas are not allowed to be posted?

that wasnt a beta leak. DH and ATI work together very closely and we were given the 5.8s and 5.9s 24hrs before the general public.

Seems fake, anyways I wouldn't advise even bothering with that set

NGO brought the thing to my attention,
they also say its some soft of fake / hackjob

I don't think station drivers is dumb enough to post real ones
since the last time ATI severed them with a cease and desist
ordersince then they've hosted alot of "fakes"

Have you seen the INF files or file versions? No, you haven't.

You have no argument.

You also wrong I've downloaded them, I haven't installed
them but I've unpacked them, and expaneded the driver
files manually. Looked at the INF's etc....

Discused this with other people who say the SAME
THING that it appears to be a fake / hack job or some sort
I wouldn't trust them...

Even if these file were real you shouldn't be useing them
it would be complely at your own risk and with out any
support what so ever.

They have tangled with ATI's legal department before
with posting betas. something tells me they don't want
to revisit that again...

I would worry about weekly releases... just seems too exessive in the way of too much time would be spent on releasing vs. fixing. Let the poor guys at ATI work and once a month is fine atleast for me ... otherwise poor modders... could you imagin modding and testing weekly?!!?? OHH HELL NO!

The only reason why Nvidia can pump out beta drivers every other day is because they actually have an OFFICIAL message board, significantly larger number of fan sites, and users anxious to test.

Edit: Substantial amount of OEM drivers from card makers and system builders is another reason.

Wow Catalyst Maker maybe im dreaming but can it be that this leaked one has AVC H.264 acceleration i can play High Profile 1080p without stuttering now on a 2.4 Ghz machine and that via Mplayer it seems to accelerate the surface impressive and that on a Radeon 9800 pro r360.

Terry, I would love a weekly or BI-Weekly driver.

Im half tempted to install these (fake) 5.10 drivers as well.... ever since after driver version 5.6, atleast me useing a radeon 9800 pro 128meg video card, have had issues with Dawn of War getting stuttering so bad on any settings that it appears to stop and go. Along with that, BOS 'Bet on Soldier' also sees a issue with useing drivers past 5.6 with there game for some ATI users. The explosion in the demo useually takes me out (VPU reset to crash).

BTW- I wouldnt advise useing these drivers at all untill I give them a run through. Me having a old 9800 pro im kinda hopeing it burns up so that I have a reason to buy a R520.

PS: These drivers are build dated for the 7th. The offical drivers are 9/1 or 9/2. So in theory, these could be like 5 days newer than the officals. One thing that I found odd was that the INF file that is with this was marked for today, the 26th at 12:36pm.

This basicaly means that they modified the inf today probably to add all video cards that are not the new R500 set.

Why would you call something that in one way or another came from the company that pays you, "nonsense". Leaked or not, ATI commissions their creation, 3rd party or directly.

You know come to think about it. I would almost definatly have to get with some people to try and devise a auto uninstall/install for the ATI driver at that point. Then again, now that im just useing the driver and no control panel, it isnt as big of deal as it was.

Is it just me or do things just run faster with no control panel at all installed? Ive got my system down to booting to only useing 150megs of ram includeing firewall and anti virus.

Actually it’s because they only officially release like 2 drivers
per year. Yes, they opened their own forums a few mouths back
while ATI has been out in the actual community for years. They
don’t have to have nor need an “official board” for "fans only"
where they can control everyhing.

NVIDIA has no driver feed back program though when you go
to their site you can submit a “support” ticket to their customer
service.. Their officially “leaked” betas are the official releases.
Yet NVIDIA stresses you should only use the officials. If they
wouldn’t have any customers.

When I used a NV card in my main rig years ago. Betas where just about all
you ever used well since like NVIDIA. No need for support, feedback,
qaulity testing, WHQL, little things like that. The fix was find another beta
driver that might not have that issue. It’s the same today go figure! I love
their numbering scheme too. The drivers are all over the place version and
date wise. I’ve yet to see and actual NVIDIA rep on any public forum.
Other then the one they recently opened.

Found this gem on rage3d from this guy

ATI used have leaks many years ago but ATI cracked down on it and
the leaks dried up. As the drivers are even water marked and they
know where they came from so leaking them would be an act of stupidity.
Not to mention a violation of a legally binding agreement with ATI.
Also ATI releases an offical WHQL driver every month.

Do you realise who your talking to? That was Terry Markdon,
but you would know him as the head of the Catalyst Crew.
Yiou know the people that makes the drivers.

Thats way to bad that NONE of those cards are in those driver's INF
In fact the higest / latest card listed is X850 series. Not to mention in INF's
have errors, and they fail to install on many cards / systems. Even messes up when they are manually installed.

I checked them out since after all it was time for my regular format and did
so after I got my files back up, AS I knew a format would clean out any crap
left from these. AS I said before I'D ADVISE YOU TO NOT USE THESE DRIVERS.
