Omega desktop icon

Hello everyone thankyou for having me aboard. I apologize in advance for my obvious newbness. Just started messing around with the Omega drivers yesterday. My question is this.
Periodically i find my startup Omega desktop icon loads up on startup, but immediately disappears. This makes things difficult to tweak and overclock and adjust settings that the Omega driver offers. Does anyone know why this is happening? I am currently running a:
3.2 Intel P4 HT
P4P 800 SE Asus MOBO
ATI 98000 PRO 256
Audigy 2
Windows XP
If this has been answered somewher b4, i apologize.. It seems like a simple problem, but it is a problem that is getting annoying, and without reinstalling the drivers, it is a problem that persists.. Thanks all

This will likely get moved to the Omega Drivers thread.

However, which Desktop Icon are you referring to specifically?

Ty, didn't realize I was in the wrong thread. But, to answer your question i'm talking about the ATI Tray Tool That normally loads up with other items such as your anti-virus software. It loads up, but periodically just disappears soon after.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and look in the Processes Tab if you can see atitray.exe running.

It is, ty Parizan. Unfortunately it seems to be an intermittent problem as the ATI tray tool isn't disappearing today. I can't seem to duplicate this strange glitch. TY both for your help. But the problem seems to have corrected itself. Or at least for now. If it does disappear again from the tray tool, is there a way to access the overclocking settings, tweaks etc from a different location?

If it disappeaers, check in the Processes Tab if it is running. If it is not, just go to the folder where you installed it, und run the .exe file. And if it is, you can run the .exe file too, that should bring the program up.

Regards, Partizan

I am experiencing this problem also with the Omega v3.8.252 drivers, where the ATI Tray Tools icon disappears from the system tray after about 1 second. A CTRL+ALT+DEL confirms that the atitray.exe is running. If I attempt to load the Tray Tools, the icon disappears again almost instantly. Rebooting does not help.

I have performed a complete uninstall and reinstall (including deleting all relevant folders) and the problem persists. Very occasionally, the Tray Tools will remain, but not often enough. I have a Radeon 9800XT.

Other system specs: XP Home (SP2), Intel P4 3GHz, 1GB RAM, Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro2 M/B.

As an aside, I experience frequent lockups in 3D games whereby the game will freeze for roughly 5 seconds, then go black for a couple of seconds, then return to the game. I am unsure if temperature has anything to do with this because I get two very different temperature readings. The System Tray Hardware Monitoring in the Tray Tools record around 55 degrees celcius, however the temperature recorded in the Overdrive tab under advanced display settings reads about 75 degrees celcius.

Any help is appreciated.

You're welcome.

Actually, I've not been using Omega's lately. I've discovered the NGO Drivers.

I might migrate back to NVidia for my next upgrade, which is going to involve a dual core CPU and PCI express video card.
