Scaling issues with Radeon 9600 Mobility

Hello all,

I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 and I have issues with scaling lower resolutions. Scaling is very inconsistant depending on the res I choose. For example, 1680x1050 makes the screen shrink regardless of the scaling options I choose. 1400x1050 (and many others) causes the destop to be larger than than display so I have to push the edges around with my mouse to see everything. Some res works right. 1600x1200 will scale to fill as much as it can leaving black egdes on the side as expect. 1280x800 fills the whole screen and doesn't shrink. I downloaded the latest Omega Drivers, but I have had this problem for some time. Anyone have any clue to what's going on or how I can fix this?

I'm experiencing the exact same problem with my new laptop (radeon x600). Have tried various drivers without any success.

Anyone know what's going on?
