8500 up to a 9700 pro

have currently got an ati 8500 64mb gfx i am upgrading to a 9700 pro in 2 weeks.
have currently got dx9 on with the cat 3.0 drivers ,,
will i need to uninsatall currnet drivers before fitting new gfx card
or will it be ok to just power of swap card and power back on ,,
b.t.w i am on w2k pro ;;;;

From what you have said, I assume you are not re-installing your OS

So I would have to recommend that you make sure that you uninstall your ATI drivers(Cat3) and the control panel. Then go into your registry and make sure that there is know trace of your old ATI hardware :P and then install you new card. Download and install the Cat3 WHQL drivers and Enjoy!
