error messages in the event handler. Help!

So my computer bluescreened the other day. I went to the event handler to see what the deal was and noticed that I get this one error every single day. The source is from ati2mtag and the warning says

CPLIB :: Open Session - Failed to load the library

now nothing has gone wrong (other than the BSOD yesterday which is the first time I've ever seen that) so I'm not really sure what to make of it. I have noticed games not running quite up to snuff but they've played reasonably well. Just an occasional hicup.

Anyway the event number is 52225. If anyone has any information on whats up with this, that'd be really helpful.

That sounds like a driver failure to me.

First, if you have any ATI tools like ATI Tray Tools uninstall them first, and see what happens. I would also suggest uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers, but make sure to use Driver Cleaner to get rid of the files just incase they are corrupted. I would also try using ATIs actual drivers to see if this helps before going to Omegas or DHs ones.

BTW: I've seen this error pop up quiet ofter with people that use softmodded or altered drivers. Are you using any?

As a matter of fact...yes I am. Hmmm...

Well I did delete the drivers and reinstall them sans ATI tray tool (I hate that thing anyway so no loss) but the error is still happening. Oh yeah and I ran drivercleaner pro after deleting the drivers. I'd guess its the softmod then, which is kinda disapointing. :-\

edit: Well theres a problem with going to ATI drivers. No softmod.

I would try and rule out other hardware just in case. Remind us, what video card is it? And your system specs won't hurt too.

Check your RAM (memtest) and PSU voltages, especially if this is repeated problem.

As long as the problem remains non-random, i.e. with the same module failing, it should be troubleshootable.

If you have a minidump in c:\windows\minidump folder you can share, I could probably take a look at it and see if I can come up with something reasonable based on that.

How are the temperatures on the video card doing?

I have exactly the same problem ... i mean this error on every reboot.
Th error is there with Omega-drivers, the softmod from PowerUp, but not with the original ATI-driver ... so something is definitely wrong i guess.
