I use ATT to OC my card and to tweak drivers, and I've enabled AAA registery entry and I've been happy how it works but still waiting SSAA for X800 series

They will?! w00t! Now that would be an amazing Xmas gift I thought it was just for X1800 series but hell, if they do that'd be awesome.

And yes, I am lazy

And what's it for ? Any performance/quality improvements (even to other AA-modes) ?

Ahhh ... FullScreen-AntiAlaising, Temporary-AntiAlaising, Adaptive AntiAlaising ...
Sorry, I'm not the pro in graphics options.

... and here's my next question: Should I always set AA and AF in-game (for example in the BF2-menu) or in ATT ?

Yeah, thanx, that's what I think, too ...

But there is no AF setting in BF2, so I force 4x quality AF in ATT. Is combining the settings (AA in-game, AF in ATT) okay or does it affect the game's performance ?
By the way, what happens by forcing (4x)AA in-game and using another setting in the CP (let's say 6xAA) ? What mode will be used ?

Only way to know is to try it out and see what happens...nothing will break, worst is a bit of lag

W00t ?

Where tha heck shall I know what mode is in use ? I cannot distinguish between 4x and 6x AA or the five different AF-settings with my own eyes ...

Your answer sounds okay, thanx. But is there no technical explanation of this ?

Usually if a game has AA settings within it, use those as opposed to forcing it in Radeon properties.

I don't remember ever having a problem with AF being forced (I always slam to max and forget it).

All I want out of these rumoured 5.13 drivers is a fix for the blocky shadows in NFSMW.....probably a pipe-dream, I know, but that's all I need at the moment.

I know what you're talking 'bout, mate. I've got these blocky shadows in Battlefield 2, too ... and they look so ugly.

Anyway, if ATI or EA won't fix them, I really hope they will be finally gone when I get this X850XT PE for Christmas ... (although I'm not celebrating it )

Just added dual core support a few days ago with 5,12 and your already
asking for "better"? though its obvious they will be bringing better support
in future releases

TURN OFF DYNAMIC SHADOWS IN BF2 = problem solved
(and you get about 10 extra FPS)
