5.13 and ATI Tray Tools - Help

Hi,

I currently using 5.12 with the control panel and would like to use the new drivers (5.13)
but not use CCC. I have seen members suggest using ATI Tray Tools .25 (?) with the drivers. I am not a big tweaker BTW

Any suggestions on the process of deleting the 5.12 and control panel as well as installing and using ATI Tray Tools????? I have followed the process outlined by the readme file in Driver Cleaner (which works great).

For most members I am sure this is a dumb quesition but I am a novice....

thanks in advance.

Paul

When you install the drivers, there is a "Custom Install" option, where you can unselect the CCC and not install it.

I think you are talking about ATITool, when referring to 0.25 version, as ATI Tray Tools is past version 1.0 now.

There should be no problem using ATI Tray tools to configure the video card - it's just not as straightforward if you are a novice, and will take a little adjustment to the interface.

BTW, you can disable CCC from running by default, even if you install it - so it does not load on startup, but you can still use it when needed. To do that, simply remove the CCC registry entries from "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Run" in registry.
