How to disable tripple buffering
Hi,
I just got a laptop and tried installing maya on it but get the start up error. I read that i needed to disable tripple buffering but i just cant find a way to do it. Firstly, the laptop uses a ATI Radeon Xpress 200M card which ATI apparently don't support. Ive tried to install their drivers but get an INF error. So then i tried omega drivers. These installed fine but the ATI Tray Tools gives me a bios error (apparently they dont support the card either) Next i tried radlinker. I guess they don't support the card either as i only get 2 tabs, clock rate and about. So anyone know of a way i can get maya to work? Thanks |

i'm pretty sure that bios error means your drivers arent installed. see if the direct3d tests work in dxdiag.
try using mobility modder on the offical catalyst drivers and see if that installs. you can get it here http://www.hardwareheaven.com/mobility-radeon-drivers-support/71596-driverheaven-mobility-modder-v2-2-a.html |

I had that problem a few weeks ago and it is necessary to disable Triple Buffering under the OpenGL settings.
I'll post the most likely manner to do this: Right click on a blank space on your Desktop screen. Now select Properties at the bottom of the menu that comes up. Click on the Settings tab. Click on the Advanced button. Among the tabs showing look for 3D and select that. You should now see a selection for Direct3D and OpenGL. Select the OpenGL. Now click on the Compatibility button. Check the Disabled option for Triple Buffering. Post back with any further questions or comments. Good luck! |

For ATI Radeon Xpress 200M you must disable overclocking in ATI Tray Tools. No support for this board.
