omega driver performance after 5.11?

For whatever reason, using 5.12 and now 6.1 of omega's drivers decreases my performance drastically- particularly in Rome:TW. What could be the cause of this? I tried 6.1 in the hopes that it would fix itself, but it was just as bad as 5.12. In R:TW, if I load up a map with a huge city and epic walls, the screen starts skipping before I even start the battle. With the 5.11 drivers, however, it runs damn near flawless.

I have a P4 3.0 ghz, 2 gigs of RAM, ati 9600 card.
