I've installed the latest official ATi CAT 6.1s w/CCC. After doing so, I then install your latest version of ATT. It worked splendidly for a couple of days.
Suddenly, without any warning, after creating a game profile, I got the infamous, "Wrong version of low level device driver...." error that popped up on the screen. I've since uninstalled ATT, Uninstalled ATi CAT 6.1, cleaned the registry, reinstalled CAT 6.1, reinstalled ATT and ALWAYS without fail, I'm getting the same error and ATT will not start. Can you help? |

did you just delete the rayadams and att references in regedit or did you use a reg cleaner app like regseeker 1.45 and search for all rayadams reference and atitray reference and radeon reference.later

Very strange error! This should not be happened. Anyway lets try to find whats wrong,
1. Uninstall ATT. Delete all files in Ray Adams folder 2. Restrart 3. Open Device Manager. Click "View"->"Show hidden devices" Then expand "Non-PLug and Play Drivers". Try to locate atitray. If you find i8t, right click on it and select uninstall then restart Windows 4. Install ATT again. |

Here is the actual screen popup message: ![]() I'm at a loss for now. EDIT: Quick question -- Would you recommend installing an older version of ATT? e.g. one that's known to work?

I'm using the latest download from this month, if that matters at all. EDIT: Ray, for now, I've gone ahead and installed Omega's newest set of drivers. This has (so far) allowed the ATT to run and work, too. I'd still like to see if we can figure out why ATT would not install properly with the official CAT 6.1s. Does it make any difference that I had the CCC installed, too?

I too have seen this. I uninstalled everything including the previous version of ATT and reinstalled the 6.1 ExtremeGT drivers and everything's fine now.

To update my report: I just uninstalled Omega's latest drivers, deleted the folder in the Program Files, also deleted an empty Ray Adam's folder. Restarted the computer and installed the Official CAT 6.1 w/CCC. After rebooting the computer and resetting my Desktop Resolution, I proceeded to install the latest Ray Adam's ATT from January 9. As soon as it completed installing, I got the exact same error window as posted above. So, I conclude there is something between the new CAT 6.1's that's conflicting with the ATT. EDIT: I'll have to check it with the 5.13s later tonight. I have to leave for work now.

it may be conflicting with something in EXTREME ati drivers (thats what i mean, i added GT in there)
![]() not sure if a value is set in the registry for it or what... but i know ray adams helped with that project, mabe something d idnt clean up correctly.

I've again reverted to using the latest Omega drivers (6.01) and ATT is working just fine with these.
Could it possibly be conflicting with something in the ATI CCC? OR, I know the installation of ATT defaults with a setting checked for 'more compatibility'....something like I2D or such. Should that be unchecked during installation? |

This error message only appears if version of low lelevl driver are different from version in ATT. I put this limitation because in new releases I alw3ays make new changes in atitray.sys so new atitray.exe MUST use correct version of atitray.sys. No other errors can produce this message. So I have realy no idea whats goin on.
If you want, I can give you new beta version. I havce updated low level driver again, so it will be good idea to check it. Just mail me to traytools(at)guru3d.com |
