Flashing Sapphire 9700PRO with ATi Retail BIOS

Would this work? I'm thinking yes because Sapphire makes ATi's cards. Has anybody tried this? Successfully?

I'm having some issues with my card and I want to try a BIOS flash to see if it helps.

I'm on a revision 1.1 PCB.

Only benefit I can see with doing that flash is if you went with a newer BIOS, but the Sapphires all appear to have the latest BIOS

How are this Shappire cards?, can you use the standard ATI drivers?...I was planning to buy a Shappire Radeon 7500, but don't know if the card is good or not.

Sapphire Cards

I bought a Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9000 (non-pro) about a month ago and have been very pleased with it. The performance has been great for me, and the price was even better (~$65 after shipping). I have used drivers from Sapphire's website, both of ATi's Powered By.. and Built By.. drivers, and Omega's drivers. Here's a link to my 3D Mark score..

IIRC, Sapphire is the company which actually manufactures the Radeon cards for ATi. And yes, I had the older 8.003 BIOS, not the 8.004 BIOS. It didn't make a difference, but oh well

Actually my 9700 Pro was made in Canada by ATI. Going to the 8.004 gave me an extra 10mhz on my memory overclock
