I've searched around for any posts on this subject, but alas, no luck so far... so I'm posting :P.
Recently I finally came across a game (EvE online) that I could not play with the default Ati driver for the Mobility Radeon 9200. Sure, no problem, so I look at the Ati webpage for an update on the driver; there aren't any. No updates on my rather unique card :P. So I decided to go 3rd party for a driver. So I found an Omega driver for my card (version 2.6.87). Everything runs smoothly, even games, now. Except for minimizing/maximizing windows (so I disabled the feature in windows for "smooth transition"). The only problem I still get is: MSN. For some ODD reason, it keeps crashing the driver, and windows seems to start using the motherboard for graphics... meaning I have to reboot the computer for the driver to work again. What happens exactly? I really don't know, I just close the main msn window... and it sluggishly shows that the window goes towards the taskbar. And sometimes, instead of closing like that, it returns to the desktop, no icons show, and everything freezes for a few seconds. Then there's a beep from the computer... and then the graphics for everything in windows seems sluggish, and games that require a graphics card don't work AT ALL. So, it gets pretty frustrating having to reboot my computer all the time because of this little... glitch. I've had to do so 3 times today. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated (like, I'd send cookies ). Thank you for your time ![]() PS: System specs: Processor: Intel Centrino 1.7gHz RAM: 1 gig Gfx card: Ati Radeon Mobility 9200 (with Omega 2.6.87) BIOS: Phoenix FirstBIOS Notebook Pro version 2.0 DirectX 9.0c |
