UT Crashs
Well, as the title already told you, my UT crashs. I updated to the latest Omega Drivers, based on Catalyst 6.1. I also installed the latest ATT version.
OS: Win XP SP2. Before doing this stuff, everything worked fine. But currently my UT freezes after playing for about an hour. I am not able to do anything in this situation. |

AMD64 3200+
Radeon X800XT PE Asus A8V Deluxe 2 x 512 MB DRR Ram Corsair Value Select anything else? Btw, I told you that it worked before updating my drivers. I also noticed some kind of weird incidents after switching from WC3 onto my desktop using alt + tab. |

hmmm, sounds interesting. Could possibly be a corrupt driver, or possibly a heat issue. I'd try rolling back to the previous drivers and see if the problem continues.

Well, I had already installed the 5.12 based ones and the issue was still present. Before trying out these drivers, I never used any Omega's just the default catalyst ones and it worked perfectly fine.
EDIT: I believe that its worth tying to play UT without ATT tomorrow. We'll see about the results Last edited by [Zephiris]; Jan 29, 2006 at 12:44 AM. |

I have had a problem with my Athlon XP 3000+ and AIW X800 XT, not just during games, but periodically. I wonder if there is a compatibility problem?

are you refering to the original UT? if so are you up to date with the 436 patch? do you manually edit your ut.ini? are you using directx or open gl as your API of choice?

Well, I am talking about UT2004 with the latest patch and some minor changes in the .ini ( but they are all correct, I already checked them, and they couldnt possibly have any serious effects like these ). I am using the default Direct3D render device.
Today I tried playing without the ATI Tray Tools and it worked fine, but I still wonder why I get this weird incidents after minimizing Wc3 ( I suppose it's a OpenGL based game, isnt it? ). I try finding some settings that might have been changed by the ATT and I might be able to reach a conclusion. Anyway, I'd like to hear some more opinions and I would also be pleased by suggestions regarding solutions concering this issue. |

If you refering to UT 2004 + RADEON = CRASHES = EA SUCKS
I've always had tht problem after a certain patch level useally when deailing with ciustome maps and content. Or after a long period of play whe really haveing fun... and its not a grahical crash I get thugh, its useally some sort of engine error part of why I stoped playing it al togeather... As for UT 2003 and older all are fine...

Well, I have Windows XP SP2, nothing else. No 64Bit version, no Professional Edition. I also don't think there is something wrong with the driver. I think I'll try solving my problems by uninstalling ATT and Omega drivers and going with the catalyst 6.1

indeed, i've been playing the game now more than ever because of this thread. Funny how reading about a game or seeing a commercial, at least for me, makes me want to play the game.
Off to a quick session before class!! |

Well, good to know that you guys restarted playing one of the best multiplayer games released. Never the less my problems remains and I decided to clean all the current drivers and installed the 6.1 Catalyst version once again. I'll let you in on my results later on.
