??? Neutral-Catalyst-v2.0.2a.exe are they good ?

Hi all,

Just a question:

I came across a Korean website atimania.com , and in the download section i discoverd someone is making
a neutral-Catalyst-v2.0.2a .

The thing is you can't download them from the website, buth with the filename in hand I went to filemirrors.com and looked for files starting with neutral, 1 file came up saying it is version 2.0.1a
dwnloaded it, and indeed it is version 1a.

Now For as far as I can see these are based on the 7.83 if i'm not mistaken.

My question is, has anyone tried these or has anyone more info on these drivers, my korean isn't what it used to be

The soonest I can try them is next week, but if anyone can gimme some advice, i'd be happy

greetzz

Well...

I heard that neutral driver set was repackaging only.

Except, some feature like, 1290x960 support.

It contained ATi Driver set, Control panel set and Capture Driver set.

File maker says, this driver set makes for ATi novice user.

He says Neutral driver set is very easy to install Catalyst driver.

"Neutral" set.

Does anyone else just instantly conjure up the image of getting your dog/cat "fixxed" when they hear the name "Neutral Cat3 set"? It sounds like an emasculated set-o-drivers or something....

Hellgate, we got that. What we're kind of asking is...

1. How can this POSSIBLY be easier than ATI's setup program or Omega's setup program. You double-click the .exe, say "yes", and it installs.

2. What are the BENEFITS of this, over Omega or ATI?

Answer :

1. For novice user, neutral driver can support easy install...
Usually, Catalyst divided 2 driver set as driver part and control panel part.
neutral driver set was combined 2 parts in 1 part.
Some Korean ATi user couldn't understand install procedure,
(I think Catalyst set is also easy to install, but they don't.)
File maker help that people to install driver set easilly, using Korean support.
(Also it support English.)

2. It has no benefit.
It is simple package to install of Catalyst driver set.

Good answer, two points for hellgate! Just out of curiousity, do you know that or are you just guessing? (I'm not disagreeing with you, your explanation makes a lot of sense. )

Thank you,

I'm also Korean.
So I can read Korean help text.
And, I'd want to know that, I installed that driver set.
And now, I returned original Catalyst 3 fixed WHQL driver set.

So can ATI driver and Omega driver. By the way - English lesson for the day:

Articles are considered useful and necessary parts of speech. So, in your sentence above you would say "THE neutral driver <verb>" not "neutral driver <verb>". In this way you can also avoid verb mismatches. It is, for example, not proper to say "car drove to school". You would say "THE car drove to school." It is also not proper to say "John walk to school". Rather it should be "John walks/walked/will walk to school".

Kinda like... most of the Catalysts and all of the Omega and/or Plutoniums?

Some Korean ATi user are stupid, apparently. I don't care WHAT language it's in... push "next" until it installs. *sigh* I guess there's no accounting for the software people will write to support their own dumbness.

Ahh... ok so it has localized help and install text. See THAT is a good reason for it to exist. Thank you.

Gurm you happen to be dumb also

your first sentence isnt a correct one at all.

its missing the beginning so therefore its not a proper sentence.

THE would not be capitalized, it would remain lowercase as its after a comma and part of a sentence not the beginning. It would also not be proper to say THE car drove to school, as for one, THE is once again not fully capitalized and it is also not a proper sentence as a car cannot drive itself. Now this would be a proper sentence.

The young man drove his car to school.

See my point?

I can point out about 7 more mistakes....so dont be stupid please.

Thank you.

(BTW---I know that I dont use full punctuation or grammar so do not try to correct my post as I already know that it has errors....grow up a little bit.)

Big Grin

Alright, back to topic

I gave them a shot, and I must say they do install very easy (easier? I wouldn't say)
anyway, instead of a dull red screen saying : installing drivers bla bla bla ...
you get a red screen with some cartoon figures in Manga style.

yeah yeah real cute i hear you think, I know just tought it was worth mentioning

about the driver:

I have a mobility 7500 and i've been looking for a descent driver, (omega was good) but this one is better (my opinion)
The catalyst 3a don't install on a mobility (unless you edit inf files) only omega installs mobilty's but is not 3a, this set installs mobilty and works fine.

I tried the original 7.83 leaked version and it sucked, this is also a 7.83 version but it works fine? I don't get it, so I do believe it is a litlle modded, not sure

I only tested OpenGL in unreal tournament (not ut 2k3) and works fine
Lost about 300 points in 3dMark but who cares, i won FPS in UT2k3 and that is the most important.
IQ is also very good.

General conclusion:

-Easy to install
-If your driver works fine whatever you are using, leave it, do not install it
-If you still haven't found a descent driver like I did, try it, It might do the trick.
-Maybe it's only good for mobilty users like me.

final warning: Try them at own risk, don't blaim me if your PC gets screwed up

Sorry,I forgot to mention about mobility one.

File maker said, that added mobility inf like M6, M7500, Mobility 9000,ETC

But, he said it was a test version, he couldn't test driver set for mobility support.
