arrow I 'might' have solved my "infinite loop" problem....

Ever since I upgraded to XP Home, I've had horrible experience trying to update or change my video drivers. Every single attempt has resulted in an 'Invalid Sync' message upon rebooting my system.

XP has done a number of 'recovery' attempts and posted that error message. Every single message indicates that the video card got stuck in an infinite loop.

So, this past attempt I decided to take drastic action. I UNPLUGGED my TV OUT cable from the back of the RADEON 8500.

NO MORE PROBLEM!

The system booted right up and I have the particular newest drivers installed like I wanted and will continue to do a little testing to see what happens after this.

I just finished testing my little experiment....with SUCCESS!

I just reverted to Omegadrive's latest XP drivers without any problem at all! None whatsoever!

AND, just like Omegadrive suggests, all I had to do was make sure his installation overwrote any 'newer' files on the system. No need to uninstall the current set of drivers.

I'm one happy camper right now.

the only time you REALY REALY REALY should uninstall and remove all driver/.inf...ect... is if you have installed a wacked Leak or even Beta drivers. But most of the time just a regular install thru the device manager is best. But the installer will work too 80% of the time, you just get smartgart that way, tho Omega drive has no smartgart...

The TV out issue is real and any new instll you should unplug it!
