World In Conflict

In this test we have aimed for some pretty lofty settings to really stress the cards and find out if it is possible to play World in Conflict on a high end card at 1920×1200 with the majority of effects enabled. Anti-aliasing was set at 4x and once again 16x anisotropic filtering was used.

Throughout this review we have been very aware that both Quad SLI and 3-way SLI hit CPU limitations on a regular basis and we have been successful in removing these limitations as much as possible, however World in Conflict gave us the most trouble of all the tested games. There are stages within the game which suffer from CPU limiting more than others; as an example (which is easy to recreate on your own system) stage one has about half the performance of stage ten. Multi-GPU scaling is therefore affected by the section of game used and so we had to take great care in choosing a segment to test. In the end we settled on one of the later levels and the results are shown above. As expected Quad and 3-way perform very well and do not struggle with the game at all.
