XFX GeForce 9800 GTX Black Edition

Colin McRae – DiRT

DiRT was tested at 1920×1200 with 4x anti-aliasing and 16x anisotropic filtering and 2560×1600 with no anti-aliasing and 16x anisotropic filtering. The detail levels within the game were all set to their maximum level.

DiRT, like Call of Duty 4 before it, gives us some significant performance increases when using the XFX card although there are none as large as the twelve frames per second we saw on the previous page. Probably the most important difference between the performance of the two cards is that the enhanced clocks of the Black Edition allow us to play at 2560×1600 with only one drop below twenty-five frames per second where as a reference GTX does not even reach this threshold on average frames per second.
