The electrical performance of the FirePSU is simply outstanding. The voltage regulation circuit appears to be highly responsive and keeps the voltage lines very stable under constant load shifts. The efficiency can reach a maximum of 88% at typical load and drops down to a minimum of 83% at maximum load, which is admirable by today’s standards.

As the efficiency of the unit is very high, less power is wasted (as heat) and the fan doesn’t have to spin fast in order to keep the unit within operational temperatures. This makes the FirePSU very cool running and entirely quiet as long as it isn’t heavily loaded. While this product is operating under typical load you wouldn’t be able to notice any noise coming from it, however when the load exceeds 80% of the unit’s maximum output the FirePSU tends to warm up considerably and the fan starts spinning faster, becoming clearly audible.
