Final Words and Conclusion

Corsair Cooling ICE T30 TEC
It is very clear that the Ice T30 TEC is not aimed at the average enthusiast and this has to be taken into consideration when we look at the product as a whole. With this in mind we have to say that this cooler is a fantastic piece of engineering.

The installation could be improved by the inclusion of a thermal paste which is less viscous and there is little need for the nameplate but other than this the kit is easy to install. Additionally, with a little effort it is also possible to change/move memory sticks without actually dismantling the full unit which makes future system changes much simpler than initially expected.

With the kit installed we were very impressed by the humidity monitor/condensation control which kept our memory chilled but never in danger of damaging itself or surrounding components. For those with a more extreme streak there is of course the option to completely turn off the monitoring and in that situation we saw temperatures as low as 2.8c.

Performance is really what this kit is all about though and in this area is very hard to fault the IceT30. Paired with the Dominator-GT modules it allowed the memory to reach the limit of our other hardware, including four different CPUs and when installed on a set of standard Dominators we achieved an overclock which was 125MHz above our highest air cooling results.

Price can make or break a product so we were a little concerned that Corsair would slap a ludicrously high price tag on the kit, thankfully this is not the case. For $199 you can purchase the TEC, water block and control circuitry/wiring which seems a very reasonable price. For those whose budget does not quite stretch that far there is the option to buy the water block on its own for $60 and attach that to a set of Dominators.  Both kits have a 1-year warranty.

Due to its exceptional performance and very attractive price the Corsair Cooling Ice T30 wins our Gold Award.

Dominator GT

It should also be noted that although we are testing the TEC today, the performance of the Dominator-GT modules was exceptional. Taking 1866MHz sticks to above 2000MHz on stock voltage and timings is impressive, taking them to 2100+ and actually being limited by other components is exceptional. For this reason we actually feel they are deserving of our Gold award.
