Undeniably the electrical performance of the Eco 80+ 350W unit is inferior when compared to the better Pro 82+ and Modu 82+ series units, but it still is very good overall. The voltage regulation circuit performs very well for a product of its class. At the same time, the efficiency of the Eco 80+ 350W unit is amazingly stable at around 84% across the entire load range.

The thermal performance of the Eco 80+ isn’t the greatest we’ve encountered for units around its power range, but that is because the thermal control design vastly favors acoustics over thermal performance as long as the internal temperature of the Eco 80+ is lower than 45°C. Consequently, the Eco 80+ is entirely quiet as long as it operates under nominal load and becomes audible only if it’s heavily loaded for a prolonged period of time or if the ambient temperature increases above 33°C-35°C.
