Gaming (World In Conflict / Counter Strike Source)

World In Conflict

Soviet Assault was tested at 2560×1600 with 4xAA and 4xAF. All ingame details were set to their highest level.

Counter Strike Source

Counter-Strike Source was tested at 1024×768 with no anti-aliasing or anisotropic filtering. All ingame details were set to their default level.

In this CPU review we have taken two approaches to game testing. In our first test we have World in Conflict running at settings which a gamer may well use. In this scenario the processors are closely matched on average performance with the more expensive Intel chips offering small advantages in minimum and maximum framerates.

When we move to Counter-Strike Source at low resolution which removes any GPU bottleneck we see that in CPU limited scenarios the 870 offers noticeably better minimum framerates than the 750 and 920.
