Many people get confused with Microsoft licensing options, their top dog Steve Ballmer stated at a press event in London that a more straightforward system will not be happening in the forseeable future.
He admitted that Microsoft are sometimes guilty of hiding important clauses as to what a license will exactly offer their end users, stating "I am sure we have fine print we do not need. We are not saints".
He also made the point that pricing is a balancing act on many levels and that customers want the company to simplify its licensing structure without a price increase but the companies shareholders want simplicity without a price decrease.
It looks like the complex licensing structure is set to remain for quite some time, confusing many end customers in the process.
